I've never paid much interest to the board and its related goings-on, so knew little about Fiszman. From what I read over the years though, he sounded like Hill-Wood's younger, cooler counterpart, and much more down-to-earth and 'in touch' with the fans than PHW. My opinion of him also increased when I learnt that he was against a foreign takeover back when suitors first showed interest five or six years ago.
Thus, it was pretty shocking to read that he passed away today. I hadn't appreciated his age, and was unaware of his lengthy illness. I wasn't a fan of the stadium move, but it's clear that it was done with AFC's interests at heart, and judging by the players' reaction today, he was a top guy too.
I'm not sure that a one minute silence is quite enough to do the guy justice, judging by the stories coming out about his input and impact on the club. A lasting memorial, however large or small, in or around the new stadium would be fitting.
All that's left to say is 'thank you' and all the best to his family.

SHIT
have been travelling all day and have just seen this
definitely a true Gooner, recognised from the off that N5 was intrinsic to the club's heritage and therefore it's future and so endured subsequent boardroom battles with a disappointingly short-sighted DD, then literally moved heaven and earth to make the new stadium a reality in what must be one of the most complicated relocations in sporting history!
It's therefore quite possible that this huge undertaking has unfortunately played a part in hastening his untimely demise as he's on record as saying that the 7yrs that it took to make the Grove a reality were mostly sleepless and that the nightmarish rudimentary planning and financing obstacles which threatened to derail the entire project and the endless meetings it took to resolve them had taken a piece of him and had he known what lay ahead of him he probably wouldn't have started!
RIP DF, I hope you get your memorial/bust you certainly deserve it IMO

Like many on here I wish his family the best for the difficult time they are going though and I thank him for his contribution and commitment to Arsenal.
Ot would appear that during his final days this guys biggest concern was safeguarding the future of this great club and I admire him no end for that. When many of us would turn our thoughts inward he continued to ensure that Arsenal would be in good hands.
Lets hope our players show that they care about this club as much as he obviously did.
