Gooner Calendar
Gooner Calendar
As some of you will know, every year The Gooner gives away a calendar in an issue around Christmas. Last year it's theme was 12 Golden Highbury Memories.
We're struggling a bit this year to come up with a theme for the 2007 calendar, so wondered whether anyone out there could help. There's a free subscription in it if you come up with the idea we run with.
The only rules are that we need to be able to get 12 pictures on the theme - one for each month. Previous calendars have included 12 Famous Arsenal Substitutions, 12 Tony Adams Goals, 12 Nationalities of the Arsenal Kingdom, 12 Arsenal Hat-Tricks... you get the idea.
You can either put forward your ideas here on the Forum or email them to [email protected]

To be honest I thought we'd done that one already, but checking back it appears I'm wrong.
Another idea we've got on the table is 12 Arsenal Teenagers - players who have made a significant impression at the Club before they turned 20. Names that come to mind, in chronological order, are Bastin, Kennedy, Vaessen, Stewart Robson, Anelka, Cesc and Theo. Any others?
All suggestions welcome.

Here's a few
1) 12 players that Wenger "was mad to let go" but then did nothing else for the rest of their careers. We could have a "Please God" month for the Chelsea Judas.
2) 12 heartbreaking lost finals - Bit melancholy, but football is supposed to be bittersweet. Only wankers moan when you don't win all the time.
3) I like the Bergkamp idea - The one against Spurs in the rain at Highbury (1996) is my personal favourite.
4) Penalties is another good one, although we could probably come up with 12 each season.
5) I thought about kits - but I think that been done too? They should bring back that chevron away kit though - Class.
6) One for next year - 12 worst Rosicky misses (joking - hopefully).

I haven't got that picture, but if you find it let me know - Would make a cracking screensaver.
Here's another one for the calender - 12 all time greatest non-Arsenal Spurs defeats.
As they seem to harbour dreams of catching us up on the back of one season where they didn't actually do so I think it's time to give our "beloved" neighbours some stick again.
Just think of the potential......West Ham (a) 2006
Blackburn - Carling Cup final (2002)
Blackburn (h) 3 years ago - Empty Season tickets thrown on the pitch
Coventry FA Cup Final
Everton FA Cup Semi (1995?)
The 2 back to back 4-0 defeats against Chelsea in 2002 (before they turned evil).
It writes itself........

I love some of the ideas which have been suggested, but I'm not sure if I would want a Gooner calendar on display on my desk showing 12 heart-breaking cup final defeats. Talk about providing the opposition with ammunition!
And do I really want to stare at Spurs players (however upset they may be) for the next twelve months?
Keep them coming though - we've got to make a decision within the next 7-10 days.

calendar idea
Some good ideas so far
How about the 12 best victories over tottenham, that would be brilliant and there is so many to choose from ha ha ha, just where would we start
or perhaps the 12 best derby moments so we can include winning the league at the shithole
