amount of liverpool fans in the arsenal end sunday

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

amount of liverpool fans in the arsenal end sunday

Post by swindongooner »

hello im new to the gooner' forum,
I just want to make the point of how many Liverpool fans were in our end Sunday.I had the pleasure of being sat next to two and a third was in my row, all wearing their shirts without a care in the world.
I spotted another three also in block 27, (where I sit)
I just wanted to know how so many got in?
this didn't go general so some arsenal fans must be sneaking them in?
my point is why weren't they refused entry after going through the turnstile or kicked out before or during the game.
of course being liverpool, Im sure you don't need me to tell you what happened after kuyt's penalty.
words/fists were exchanged between me and the liverpool supporter which Im not proud of being sat in the family enclosure, but I just find it a joke how they have the cheek to wear the shirt and then to be allowed to sit with us and celebrate their goals!
why were they allowed entry? javascript:emoticon('')

last time i noticed something like this was the arsenal celtic cl qualifying game a few years back, but i put that down to ex pats living down here who perhaps watched arsenal as a 2nd team and therefore had at least red membership (i never knew or bothered to check if it had gone to general sale)

edit: just to point out i'm far too much of a pussy to have confronted any of them

i was sat next to two of em, but brilliantly they left after about 94 mins, so missed all the excitement/horrors.

Serves em right.

They spent most of the time eating the overpriced food anyway, so a few more quid in the coffers!

Because this is AFC in 2011 & at the super-fun-happy-dome nobody must be made to feel uncomfortable. All are welcome, including opposition fans & players, and all are greeted with hugs & kisses, lest we be deemed politically incorrect & racist

Seriously though, the last few games against Liverpool at our place i've seen loads of them in our end, more so than any other supporters at other matches. Except the Emirates Cup of course. Odd.

That's madness - have never seen a blatant away fan in home end - a few undercovers but shirts?

No lie honest, The ironic part was the big screen at the emirates zoomed in on me and my friend before the game, it clearly showed two liverpool shirts next to us!! Whilst gazing at the big screen I too saw more liverpool shirts pop up!
Love to see us wear our shirts at Anfield with the scousers and live

Welcome to the forum Swindon. :barscarf:

And well done, if you stuck one on a scouser who had no business sitting among Gooners. Wearing a 'pool shirt. Cheeky bastard.

I'd be interested to know what the policy is re away shirts in home areas. Sammy (a regular on here) is a steward. I'm sure he can enlighten us.

the steward by us before kick off asked him to put his jacket on as it may upset home supporters and as soon as he left he then removed the jacket, another steward in-front warned him , don't celebrate if they score, as I don't want to kick you out. Of course he went mental after the penalty, that's when It then got nasty around us.

Happens all the time. I've seen it against PSV, Barcelona, West Ham and a few others. I don't think it's right, so I complained to the stadium manager who said it's normal that some fans have a "second club" and have the right to support them. Even if it means a ruck kicks off inside the ground.

Ridiculous. The club don't care as long as they get their money, and if you get caught sticking one on an away fan, you'll get a ban.

As far as I'm concerned.....he should have been ejected before kick off.

He had no right being in a home area.

Was his seat sold to him by a Gooner? Or a tout?

This is an important issue that I have brought up before, and one which many of our "fans" don't seem to care about.

West Ham in my experience are the worst for this from what I've heard and seen, although they don't tend to have the bare arsed cheek to wear their jersey....

If the stewards don't do anything, I really think these people should just be intimidated if they want to openly wear another jersey. A bit of verbals and this *word censored* will think twice next time.

Fucking disgrace it is, but thats the Emirates for you and the stewards.

not a chance mate, it's still alive and well, and no chance of the club or old bill doing anything.

What a fucking *word censored* he is. Second team like West Ham or Liverpool?

Honestly the Mancs will be trying it as well, if you out one, just wind the *word censored* up completely.
