Will the Verminator do a Rosicky?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Will the Verminator do a Rosicky?

Post by Captain Fabregas »

apparently he is back in first team training and just needs match fitness but are we going to see him be a shadow of his former self and keep picking up injuries? Personally i hope Verm is stronger than that and can make a full recovery but with his type of injury, i doubt it :(

A player out for that length of time after rarley becomes the player they were. Hope I'm wrong but I'd expect Tommy V to be in and out of the team next season with constant niggles.

Sadly in most cases it looks that way. But normally it happens to forward players, one can only hope he comes back stronger especially mentally.

the thing is, he's unlikely to play again this season so he'll have several more months to get fit and strengthen himself........hopefully!!

I think that he will be the same player as before the injury. Vermaelen will not be the Ney Rosicky

Not always true, Alan Shearer and van Nistelrooy came back from a couple of bad ones and did very well and Valencia looks back in the groove at United, its down to dare I say, mental strength.

It's only our players that need counseling and TLC after a bad one.

I think Vermaelen will be ok, he seems pretty tough, injuries happen.

Was it an injury? I thought he had some additional bone that caused him some pain in his achilles.

Doesn't seem the same as coming back from broken leg, or persistent knee or hammy problems.

I think he will get back to where he was.

On the subject of Rosicky.....he's out 'ill' again against Bolton, why do we pay this guy £40k+ a week to sit in the treatment room or give us 10 mins every now and then!?

The good thing is that we don't need to rush him back because we're out of all competitions now and so he can be used sparingly and given a proper rehab programme in the Summer

I also think state of mind is important. TV strikes me as a much more positive thinking guy than Rosicknote

Need to be positive for Vermy's sake. Can't give up on this guy, he's a great talent and he earned our respect; let's have some patience and give him a chance to make a come back.

Rosicky has had his chance, probably too many, and he still looks like he needs to go somewhere else for his own sake. Bundesliga would be a great fit for him IMO.
