The ST waiting list
The ST waiting list
With more home games reaching general sale and more away games falling to silver/red membership, it makes me wonder how our 40,000 strong waiting list will fair. I wouldn't be surprised if the list is significantly cut over the next few years if the football carrries on like this.
My guess is the list will move around 7,000 places.

Well last season there were people posting on here who said they were around 12,000th in the list and they were offered one. So many people turned it down evidently.
This season will be much worse with people giving up tickets if the forums and blogs are to be believed. I think the club are heading for a bit of a shock.
I would also not be surprised if they announced that general tickets will not go up in price.....they really cannot afford to do that now the team have crumbled so dismally.

I really doubt if the waiting list for season tickets is anywhere close to that number

There are definitely 40K on the waiting list but no where near that amount would take up a season ticket if offered in the summer.

What I mean is that this 40,000 waiting list figure has been banded about for a few seasons now. Last summer we are led to believe that people in the 10k-12k mark got offered season tickets by the club so I assume it is safe to say that 10,000 is already knocked off that 40,000 figure ? Now this summer we will see even more non renewals and even more refusals from people on the waiting list so lets be honest here....do you honestly believe we have 40k waiting to buy a season ticket ?
How does it work can you delay the decision and stay on the list or do you go to the back again ?. Be wary of accepting one if it is financially taxing. I would assume that a lot of ones given up will be the more expensive ones, does that tie you in. I know that when the change from Highbury to the new place took place there were rules about where you could pick your seat and the club were very reticent to allow a move to a lower price range. Remember if you take Gold and then have to give it up , you lose your silver and go to red again.
Re: The ST waiting list
Well I joined the list last season at 39,896 so it isn't far off. I moved 5000 places up at the end of the season so the person offered at 12,000 must live in Islington.augie wrote:1886 wrote:With more home games reaching general sale and more away games falling to silver/red membership, it makes me wonder how our 40,000 strong waiting list will fair. i very much doubt that there are 36756 people willing to actually BUY one though, i see myself moving quite a way up the list...
I thought you just went down to the bottom of the list if you didnt accept one whilst on the waiting list. To be honest Silver is the best membership to have as being a gold doesn't guarantee finals etc anymore. Forking out over a grand up front is also a non starter but at least silvers pay gradually over the course of the season. If anything I should look to come off the list altogether.potter wrote:How does it work can you delay the decision and stay on the list or do you go to the back again ?. I was 23,786 on the waiting list and got offered an ST at the start of this season. Depsite being a Gooner for more than 30 years (Sliver Member and shareholder) I told them to poke it up their arse.
In the middle of this recession, no way am I gonna spend £2,000 up front to watch some of the passionless shit they've served up this season. I would've paid it to watch Adams, Vieira, Henry, Bergkamp, Pires and co. but no way will I pay it to watch this current bunch of bottlers, in a mostly silent stadium, watching Arsene wave his bloody arms around before making every excuse under the sun!!
£2,000?? Just so that Denilson, Eboue, Bendtner and co. can drive Aston Martins?? F**k off!!

I'm also 24k. Don't think we'd be offered one this year despite the problems. More of the same though & I think it'd be a real possibility next year. Doubt i'd take it to be honest, doesn't seem value for money & I should only be a couple of years away from silver anyway...SWLGooner wrote:I'm about 24k. Would laugh so hard if I got offered ome. And probably turn it down.
This is the problem. If I were a red member then I would probably take a ST because if I didn't renew I wouldn't lose out on my membership. Being just a few years away from silver I don't have a clue what I'd say if they rang me tomorrow and offeredtel wrote:This silver member will not be taking a season ticket if offered one. I'm around 13,000ish so not expecting a call this summer.....
