The ST waiting list

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Keeping my silver membership for sure.

Anyone know what happens if you're offered an st and turn it down?

They send people around to your house to persuade you to think again.

There's now a 40,000 long waiting list of people wanting to give them up.

Quite sure that you just leave the list and don't get that £15 back. Don't think you go to the back of the queue.

Nothing happens. Your name is taken off the waiting list and you stay with your current red or silver. I did it last year and still keep my silver.

I am
Position on list: 5898
and in the club of almost certainly declining and keeping my silver. And barring any major changes I will be drastically reducing my games again next season.

My guess is the list will move around 7,000 places.

I really doubt if the waiting list for season tickets is anywhere close to that number
What do you mean Augie?

There are definitely 40K on the waiting list but no where near that amount would take up a season ticket if offered in the summer.

What I mean is that this 40,000 waiting list figure has been banded about for a few seasons now. Last summer we are led to believe that people in the 10k-12k mark got offered season tickets by the club so I assume it is safe to say that 10,000 is already knocked off that 40,000 figure ? Now this summer we will see even more non renewals and even more refusals from people on the waiting list so lets be honest here....do you honestly believe we have 40k waiting to buy a season ticket ?
i do:

i very much doubt that there are 36756 people willing to actually BUY one though, i see myself moving quite a way up the list...

I am not trying to be or sound like a smart arse here but am I the only person who believes that it is in the clubs interests to talk up this long lengthy waiting list for a season ticket ? How will it look if they now come out and say "well there was a waiting list of 40k but now it is actually down to about 9k" ? They will want to maintain the myth that we are a club with a large fanbase that are still waiting for season tickets both to maintain a high commercial value to potential sponsors and also to scare fools like us into renewing every fcuking season

I just cannot continue to believe that after so many non renewals last summer and with a bleak economy ahead there are anywhere near 40k still on the list

apparently youve got more chance gaining a ST than becoming silver member from a red.

i herd rumours if you turn a ST down and have a red membership you go silver? or if you do not re-knew your gold goes silver?

ive bought my nephew a junior gunner membership which automatically goes silver when he turns 16 i think. 8)

Yeah I'm 3 away from silver. If i can get block 6 would take it though

Even if there are 40k it would be interesting to know if offered how many would take a season ticket for next season as I guess a few joined the list and are near the top no longer want a season ticket, either because of cost or they can get the tickets they want as a red/silver member.
