Philly Gooner VS Sugar Shane

Post by northbankbren »

Manny Pacquiao has signed up to fight Shane Mosely in April....this really seems like a waste of time, pacman too fast and strong for the aging sugar shane, but shane does have the power but think it will be too hard to land just like the mayweather fight.

Seems Bob Arum has convinced pacman to stay active while they await mayweathers criminal lawsuit result. Mayweather does time, i dont think the superfight we all want will happen. But if he gets off, a November/December Pacman/Money showdown could be on as it would probably be the last real chance of getting it on.

Yeah, Arum wants Pacman focused and fighting.

It is a respectable fight in that Mosley is a big name, and big crowd attraction and skillful, but he is late 30's now and slowed down, and I have little doubt that Pacman will win a clear points victory.

In an ideal world Mosley would have retired, but I think he has recently got divorced so maybe he needs money after a payout to his ex wife?

Didnt hear about the wife.

For pacman, who clearly want to go back down to 147 it was i suppose the only fight. As you said quartz the name Mosely is bigger than anyone really out their, they havent fought before (marquez was mentioned too) and a much bigger draw than anyone else.

As a fight though, a total mismatch. Mosley showed in his last fight he was losing focus and finding motivation a problem. But his real flaws were shown in the fight before against money, where it proved his was a class below.

I think the same will be shown here, and actually cant see him lasting the distance, if pacman is his usual self i honestly could see a ref stoppage before round 8.

Should be good.....pacman is always good 8)

He's fighting former amateur team-mate George Groves, they dislike each other a lot as Groves beat DeGale in the amateurs.....

And if you want a laugh here's what happened when they were both on Ringside

DeGale is a right wanker! :banghead:

Cheers pal.
Only 1 winner in this, Shane has looked methodically slow for years, so in my eyes he will get picked off over 12.
