Go to your User CP above and ensure your 'Always allow BBCode:' and 'Always allow Smilies:' are Yes.

I had this problem when I first joined the forum.

You can still type the smilie code in when posting and the site automatically reckonises the code.
I often do this if the smile I wanted is not on the left hand side, providing I know it. :wink:

I think it's that I'm posting from my phone mate but I hadn't realised that the app I'm using (touchBB) doesn't support smilies. Won't use em going forward but I dunno how to convey humour now?

Have you checked your user settings on here? It should be the site not your phone the posts the smilies.
Failing that......get a new phone! :wink:
