Moment of the season

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For me the end of liverpol game was a special as it summed up so well our season and the team.
Could really see fans believing, when we had the pen that, yes, maybe this year, it could happen.
and then...

"Your all wankers at the lane" nice one wozza
however the barca result means nothing now as we didn't go through .

Moment of the season thus far is a tie for me between Theo's goal against chelsea (went mental) and Jack's goal at villa when we secured the win. The feeling of relief after the scum result . Fell over in a heap of ecstasy after the inevitable crowd surge too  :barscarf:

Best moment of the season - a no brainer - Arshavin's Winner against the barcawhorediviingbitches - the looks on their fans faces ... sweet so sweet! - had tears in my eyes and still get the ole shivers up the spine when I see re-runs and the commentary

"Arrrsshhaaaaaaavinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!" :D

The winner against Barca is my favourite moment of the season BUT the most important was Obafemi Martins' winner at Wembley - from then on in, our season imploded.

Hmmm... I would have thought it would have been Birmingham home and you presenting Jack with his player of the month trophy... anyway, I have to agree with Henry, the Barca game meant nothing and perhaps it does go to show what a miserable *word censored* I am, I thought even after walking away from that Barca game that it would all mean nothing, and I was right there I suppose..

You miserable bastard, sucking the fun out of that moment.....

If you take that approach then Theo's goal against Chelsea and Jack's goal at Villa are equally meaningless. In fact every game we've played in the last 6 years..... !

No competition, Arshavins goal against Barcelona. Been going to Arsenal since 1994 and I think that one is in the top 5 moments ever and certainly the best moment at the grove (along with Henrys last minute header against the Mancs). Went totally doolalee.

That brilliant five minutes and especially Walcotts goal is second, pure mayhem in the North Bank.

Two moments summed up our season. From one extreme to another

1.We beat the best team on the planet. With a goal they would have been proud of

2.Newcastle's 4th goal.No other team in prem history has ever given away a 4 goal lead. The beginning of the end

when did I say all goals that didn't lead to trophies were pointless ? Just saying it was a K.O stage and I think most realistic thinkers knew we weren't going to progress. Every league win however is vital, because theres a points system in the league, if you catch my drift.

So if you win a cup match but don't win the cup then it was pointless.....but if you win league matches but don't win the league then they are still vital.... :? !

Personally, I'll remember us winning in the San Siro and I'll remember being there when we beat Barca for the rest of my life. You think Wrexham and York fans don't have cup wins against us right up there as highlights of their time as fans, just because they didn't go on to win the cups......?

....I...don't think you quite get it. Our victory over Milan was great and one of my best nights as an arsenal supporter , because we won the tie and knocked them out. However IMO the barca result was pointless because we didn't win the tie. Like for instance doing a best of three rock paper scissors game. We win the first one but lose the other two. That win got us nowhere. A great atmosphere and occasion but at the end of the day we were always going to be rock and they were always going to be paper
