STOKE CITY THREAD
The funny thing is that Jermaine Pennant was supposed to be Theo Walcott. Hell I was there the night he scored the first-half hat-trick against Southampton and looked like he might just be ready to earn his place in a team that was going to be the Invincibles the next season.
He wasn't good enough as it turned out though and his immaturity off the pitch finished off any chance he had to develop the maturity on it at Arsenal.
But the real point is this. Pennant would probably have started or featured all season any of the last six seasons at Arsenal, because we have become far too reliant on too many players at that stage of their career who were not just ready to step into the first eleven regualrly and in a number of cases still haven't grown into that level of performance or responsibility over a period of seasons

"BORING BORING" chanted the Stoke fans with an undoubted sense of irony.
But do you know what ? Yes, it was fucking BORING - just like the vast majority of our football is at this time of the season.
If pretty triangles on the half way line, players walking after 20 minutes, a complete inability to cross properly and going about an hour without having a shot on target is your idea of "excitement and entertainment" then you can find it in much cheaper forms than watching Arsenal.
For the first time in as long as I can remember I actually laughed when Stoke scored their third; no seriously. The defending has reached a new nadir. True to form when the going gets tough, Djourou and Mr.Ligue Deux get roughed up like a pair of rag dolls; just like Birmingham, just like Bolton. And if anyone tells me they think Mr.Ligue Deux is having a decent season just watch those games again, and the second half at Newcastle. Basically any time that a team takes a direct approach with us.
The lazy Russian was true to type and brainless, gormless Theo. And people say this lad should be playing as a central striker; a position requiring more guile and cleverness of thought than the one he occupies now. Just like his performance at home to Stoke, as brainless and immature as anything he's produced since 2006.
And Brentford's finest isn't quite the world beater everyone seems to think eh ? Fucking shit for the second goal and if there's a keeper with worse distribution anywhere in the top flight I've yet to see it.
In fairness to Bendtner - at least he actually looked fucking bothered when he came on and the little that we did carve out in the second half was mostly down to him.
Just that 1%-2% away eh Arsene ? Put all those soundbites from last week back in the filing cabinet (no doubt to be dug out once more if we win either of the two dead rubbers now left)
And today, can we just have a break for once from discussing the goons in the commercial team or on the board. We know their *word censored*.
But do they produce a defence that look like under 10s that have just met each other every time there's a corner? No
Do they play a centre forward as a left winger for the umpteenth time this season ? No
Do they carry on sleepwalking with the same formation that leaves the full backs exposed to the likes of the lazy Russian and the withering Czech as supposed covering players ? No
Do they decide that in the first 20 minutes of matches it's acceptable for players to be walking when in possession of the ball ? No
Arsene Wenger - please please please do me, thousands like me, and Arsenal FC a big favour and walk away now.

For me its not even about the lack of trophies.OneBardGooner wrote:If they did our trophy cabinet would have quite a few things in it!Perryashburtongroves wrote:Right, onwards and upwards. We're still in the hunt for third. They give us a trophy for that don't they?
Its more about the lack of heart, passion, effort, tactics, leadershp etc etc etc etc etc etc

Lack of determination, passion and leadership is unforgivable.
Or to quote Mr GIC...."leadership is overplayed". We all know that rotational captaincy and a 22 year old skipper is by far the best approach.Glitch33 wrote:+1.Rugby Gooner wrote:Absolutely correct Peeman!!!Peeman wrote:For me its not even about the lack of trophies.OneBardGooner wrote:If they did our trophy cabinet would have quite a few things in it!Perryashburtongroves wrote:Right, onwards and upwards. Just another example of the shite to sprout from his gob in this past year or three..

I was just praying that the away boys would summon up the courage to sing 'WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH'. I actually think it needs something as drastic as that i.e. the ever faithful away supporters to tell the 'professor'
that the bullshit he continually feeds us has past its sell by date. It really really saddens me that after everything he has done, every time the camera turns to Wenger during a game...I just don't want to look at him.
As has been said, if pretty triangles in the middle of the pitch which threatens nobody is Wenger's definition of domination, then I'd rather see the long ball game now. At least that actually creates chances.
Something has got to happen at this club and quickly.

We're stuck with this fool till 2014 mate.
