Gunners open Cesc contract negotiations
Whatever the technicalities are, it's nice to have the player actually show a bit of commitment to the club when his name is linked with a move for once rather than the usual wall of silence we've had in the past. I reckon Cesc will go to Barca eventually, but I also think he's committed to us for a good few years yet, and he knows he'd be foolish to walk away from this at this stage of his career. Hope so anyway

I agree with most on here, this move has several purposes, to give Fab a pay rise, and to make a statement of intent, which we all to0 often criticize our players for not doin, even tho it's not a particular problem at Arsenal, with Anelka the only one who really forced a move, Henry is a poor case in point, as far as worthless contracts are concerned as I am convinced he left at the manager's behest!

aint that just right!!!! I agree with the comment about contacts not worth the paper they are written on and I think we all know cesc will be a barca player eventually (like maybe in another 8years) but I really do get the feeling that he has passion for the club and wants to stayRilo II wrote:Pay rise was the first thing I thought of.
Maybe a clause that he can only leave for 100million or something. Knowing us it'll be that he can only leave for a minimum of 3 million

He will leave at some point in his career, you don’t get one club players anymore, possible exception might be terry at chavs, ut then I though that bout cashley *word censored*. The frightening thing is that cesc could see out his contract and we still wont have had the best out of him, if he does as most expect footballers to do and reaches his peak at 28/29. scary

AND WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR CURRENT WAYNE ROONEY TUNE FROM, I WONDER? THAT'S RIGHT, THE THIERRY HENRY CHANT STARTED BY US.
BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SUBJECT: SSN REPORT THAT WENGER HAS JUST DENIED THAT ARSENAL HAVE OPENED UP CONTRACT TALKS WITH CESC. HE CLAIMS THAT CESC JUST WANTED TO EMPHASISE THAT HE WAS HAPPY AT THE CLUB AND OF COURSE THAT HE STILL HAS 6 YEARS OF HIS CURRENT CONTACT TO RUN.

"Love America hate Bush" was a bumper sticker for all anti war Americans. But why let the facts get in the way of a complete display of manc stupidity. In God We Trust is the official national motto of the United States and the U.S. state of Florida. In God We Trust became the official U.S. national motto after the passage of an Act of Congress in 1956
