Melo Again

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Batman would be a better buy imo - he has a more commanding presence and the type of leader we need whilst robin would be just another lightweight short arse (apologies to DB10 all all other vertically challenged people  ) and we have enough of those at the mo (on the forum as well as the team  )
I think he would be a great player for us a scoring winger is what we need I agree on him not being the hard nut player we need but i can remember him scoring some very important goals for the chavs in the past.

he could be Pires like player for us

:anyminute:

the Same Robben, that passed to Van Persie, no more than 20 times during the whole world cup. Baring in mind they got to the final... thats piss poor.

No thanks. Id rather not have another player who spends the majority of his time in the physio room. Not to mention how much of the budget goes on a fee/wages for that Arsehole

Melo is like De Jong a terrier who puts himself about and adds tenacity and aggression to the midfield. We need a fighter like him in our pussy filled squad.

I think Robben is a great player but apparently he wont play unless he feels 100% fit this is why he is 'injured' so often.... We dont need anymore players like that :banghead:

Wonder if Stan is thinking he will cause the same problems a player knicknamed Melo (Carmelo Anthony) caused that he used to have in the NBA. Until he forced a trade to New York.

not denying that he is backed up with class. But thats not what we need. We want players who will play through the pain barrier

Robben is having problems at Bayern at the moment with some of the other players, a bit of in fighting... so it's not out of the question that he is going to be on his way..

As much as he is an annoying arsehole....he is a very good player and i would swap him for AA and some cash in a heartbeat...
now, that Bayern secured 3rd place he´ll stay at Bayern - that´s what I´ve heard.
btw: Bayern are close to sign Neuer for 21m € (with an annual salary of 6m €)

Yes a club with a sustainable business model seemingly able to compete with Europe's elite and make the odd €20m signing. Funny that...

Also read that they're signing Coentrao, Vidal and Subotic.

Proper 'big' club who will be a threat again next season.

yeah exactly, that's just what we need.

it's not like we need a midfielder who can actually play quality football, that's nonsense

if you want a fighter like you mention, then we should buy a wrestler and not a football player. melo's skills as a footballer are very poor and he gets sent off for stupid things 2 or 3 times a season. remember what diaby did at newcastle? remember how good it was for us? well, melo should do the same in a regular fashion.

i simply hate melo and would prefer seeing aliadiere signed back than watch that useless piece of shit in our arsenal.

i'm with you that we need a tough defensive midfielder asap, one who can dominate midfield, terrorize the opposition and all that, but melo is simply not the answer.

Who would you suggest instead of him BG?

To be honest I just want to see someone with a bit of fight in our midfield don't care whether that be Melo, Parker or even Lee fucking Bowyer.
