Doesn't matter really Quartz - too late to prove or do anything really(any testing done at the time didn't turn up anything out of order) , and he knows it.
He also know that putting in the book will sell more copies as people will think there is more there and want to read it, and once they buy it its too late to complain when there isn't.

The online article forgets to mention the source of the quotes which were in fact for a french football magazine so where these book quotes are coming from I dont understand.
As people have said Merse isn't the sharpest tool in the shed and I've seen him mention on Soccer Saturday a few times how they would be given brown (caffeine) tablets at half time etc. and how he would think at the time "whats this" but would take it and felt the benefits so didnt ask any further questions. Athletes take legal substances that can enhance performance all the time its no different to taking a lucozade tablet or gel today. This was at a time when Wenger was bringing in sports science methods we had not seen over here before but are the norm now - hense what I believe Merse means by having no idea what it was he was taking. The same stuff no doubt can now be bought over the counter in any Holland & Barratt store. A nothing story thats tried to make bad light of both Wenger and Merson thanks to the tricky twists used by the journalist involved.

Naaah mate he was having Merse injected with long duration delayed chemicals aka: ondulation recipricators...so in about 2 days time merse' dick drops off and all his hair falls out!....that'll teach le feckerr!!
