clapping fans at the end
I cannot remember if this topic has been covered yet but i will bring it up anyway.
Yesterday I witnesses a very poor performance away at old trafford, i spent 3 hours plus traveling to the game and three hours traveling back, this is all in the name of me getting behind my team! I saw what i call the worst performance i have ever seen because there was no single positive besides jens who i felt had a very good game, despite the 4-0 result which i felt he could do nothing about. I also saw our fans leaving at half time which i can accept their decision to pay for 45 minutes of football but it is not something i personally would consider.
What hurts the most as a fan is when you do all that you stay untill the last minute, you clap your team off for their performance when maybe just maybe they do not deserve your praise and admiration and under half of the squad applaud you the fans for your effort which to be fair deserved a better performance.
I feel it is something that the team really needs to get used to doing, with exceptions who do applaude (flamini, jens etc) the others cannot be arsed. Even at home games it would be nice as it is great when kolo, ade and gallas and co do so at the grove.
As a captain i feel gallas needs to get it into the younger players minds that we the fans deserve some praise for once!!!!
what does everyone else feel on this?

Of course he players should applaud the fans. There shouldn't even need to be questions over it. Especially on days like today the team should be able to recognise not only that the fans performed better than they did, but also that they should have made a better show of themselves for the fans, who no doubt deserve it.

Yeah i agree stuart, i just mentioned it on another thread the fact that just Jens, Flamini, Senderos came over- but there was no way i was leaving early infact i stayed a good 5-10min after the game. If i was manager of any team though regardless of division id make my team go over to the fans and acknowledge the fact that they are there!!
Gallas did come over too to be fair.AdamGreen wrote:Yeah i agree stuart, i just mentioned it on another thread the fact that just Jens, Flamini, Senderos came over- but there was no way i was leaving early infact i stayed a good 5-10min after the game. these high life footballers nowadays, have got 2 realise that, if it wasnt for us fans who probably dont even make in a year what these players earn in a week, that infact we bloody well pay a good % of theit inflatted wages. lets be honest how many of the current arsenal crop, have arsenal football in their hearts??? probably just justin hoyte, and hes not fit 2 wear the jersey. the 9,000 that went up their yesterday, were the real lossers and arsenal football club should refund them the price of their match ticket, and further more give them back their travelling expences.

9,000 of us out sang the Mancs (if fact it was about 5,000 of us after the 4th goal). It was a poor performance but we did our bit and every player should have come over at the end. Really poor form. It was the same at Boro, i know they are disapointed but so are we!
The issue is how can we expect the players to be up for a game that Arsene has made clear is a really low priority?
Well played to all those who stayed to the end!

Just wanted to say like many of us i spent over 9 hours travelling there and back yesterday, and was disgraced at how firstly the team performed and secondly how many of the so called true fans left early. Many of you would have been at the slavia prague game. 7-0 and yet they still had 99% of there fans inside the ground when the final whistle went. Arsenal have had a great season so far, they have given us some great moments, and just because we slip up and have a very ordinary performance shoudn't give anyone the excuse to walk out at HT as many of them done. Just ask yourself who's position would you rather be in at thi moment, Arsenal's or united's?
