Van Persie goals

Van Persie goals

Post by SammyDroppedHisShorts »

The guy is on 94 goals for the club.....some record considering how many games he has missed.

Me thinks it will mean he will stay next season just so he can be the seventeenth centurion at Arsenal.

Just six to go.

My personal favourite was at The Valley with that wonder strike....

Anyone else recall any other crackers from Van the Man?

One of the ones I never forgot was his late late equaliser at Goodison a few years ago. Pouring rain, he takes it off his chest on the turn, touch and fucking thunders it into the back of the net to steal a point. Think it was with his "weak" foot too, although I hesitate to call it that because he's almost as lethal with the right.

He gets some stick around here but he's a fantastic player. It's not right to fault a guy who plays hard because he gets injured often. He just shouldn't be anywhere near FKs.

Indeed I went home delighted with that goal. It makes you think had he stayed fit how many we could say he be on now...150+. ?

Great player. Deserves to play for an ambitious club.

17 league goals in 24 games is quite a record. I would love to see him stay fit for a full 30-38 games next season and show just how good he is as a goalscorer.

Charlton goal was a humdinger alright.

League game against Blackburn last season at Highbury, he got a last min beaut. Beat about four men on the touchline and from an acute angle top corner. Lovely.

Hell of a player.

You'd do well to see a better goal than this

and I know this was pre season, but what the hell.

His goals for game this year is 2nd to none.

Him fit a whole season, and lets say Darren Bent up with him 30 guarenteed.

I seem to recall he actually shinned the Charlton goal!

But as has been said by all on here, he has the ability and the vision/genius, but he is not reliable enough to be the single top quality striker at the club. For me, we need one more.

IF RVP stayed fit he'd hit 20+ PL goals every season - I firmly believe that. But he does NOT stay fit. This has been his best season but what is the bets he won't play half as many games next season?

Calm down Number 5 - our bet for next season is still on.

What did we agree? You reckon he'll hit 20+ PL goals? Or was it I reckon he won't hit 15 again? Fucked if I can remember, mate!

But either bet is good.

Top quality player, and one of the few to emerge from the tail end of this season with any credit. Seems to be one of the few who genuinely love the club, those pics of him as a kid in his Arsenal kit probably explain that.

Definitely keep him, I just wish we could get a full season from him. :(

I think his injury record is probably the reason why another club hasn't tried to lure him away, so I reckon he will still be with us next season, unless he looks for a move himself.
