Queen Elizebeth coming to Cork 20th May

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

There are a loud minority of people in Ireland who have made political careers out of dumping on, and blaming everything on the British. These people will use any excuse to try and rabble-rouse some hatred. We have similar types in this country who try pedantically to find "institutional sexism" or pseudo-racism wherever they look because their reason for being demands it.

We deserve, and have done in fairness, to take a long hard look at ourselves for some of things we did in Ireland. Now its time for these lunatics to back off and realise that its not only the British whos shits stank in the 20th century and learn to forgive & forget.
spot on. next we'll be saying sorry to the Welsh for cutting out their tougues.
So you should. Its still law in Chester that you can shoot a Welshman from the town walls with a longbow. Trouble is the Welshman on the other side is from Merthyr and lets rip with an AK

I'm not really sure its fair to say SF pay scummers to cause trouble. I vote for Sinn Fein and will continue to, I really dont think its feasible that they done so last week considering they didnt protest at all?

It was another republican group Eirigi, and also the political wings of the CIRA/RIRA(32 County Sovereignty Movement/ RSF), entirely different groups and many of whom with despise SF as traitors or are even ex SF because they werent radical enough etc.

Also as you say the druggies and other scummers come out to riot as we've seen many times in London recently also.

Myself I wasnt against the visit at all or the Queen, but it was the constant arse licking tv coverage on RTE, worthless no mark west brits banging on and on about maturing as a nation and rejoining the commonwealth/uk and the superior english nation etc, just rubs your nose out of place.

They did and do. Just because Sinn Fein don't have a big banner out front of every riot/protest doesn't mean they are not involved. Sinn Fein feed off of ignorance - no insult intended to you - in working class areas with high unemployment and drug problems; they feed off the local peoples' anger and sense of disenfranchisement.

CIRA and PIRA are also known to pay local scum to cause trouble. These are classic guerrilla tactics employed by both sides very successfully in Northern Ireland for over 40 years.
