Official Transfer (bullshit) Rumours Thread.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Arsenal sign Ricky Alvarez

"Velez's Ricky Alvarez has signed for England's Arsenal, according to Fox Sports" - @ArgentinaFW Twitter.

I'm on my Blackberry so I can't do a lot of research on him but I've heard he is 23 and rated as high as Di Maria (over rated cheat who failed a trial with us anyway)

As I posted elsewhere, he plays and looks like Pastore.
Typical of us to check youtube for every signing we make

no bloody way he is. actually, the fact that he is 23 and still in the argentinian league tells you all you need to know. i saw him play a couple of times, good player but didn't look to be THAT good.

and it would be very weird for us to sign a player so early, so i'm waiting for official confirmation

His Wikipedia entry looks ok, left footed attacking midfielder 6 ft 2. 5 goals in 46 games for Vélez Sársfield. He has had replacement knee cruciate ligament in the past it claims.

Found a him on IM Scouting which says he only has 1 assist this year but has got 4 of his 5 goals. Tall height:1.88 m / 6.17 ft Weight:73 kg / 160 lbs. If he is free it is a start but I don't hold out much hope.

6 years of almost total inactivity and STILL people believe that Wenger will buy established quality players
The only good thing about another failed transfer window and two new rubbish bargain basement French signings is that it will be another step closer to Wenger hanging himself. No chance of Arsenal getting a top 4 spot next season so it's just bide our time and wait for Wenger to 'leave by mutual consent'.

It wont be the player that we should worry about but the age!!!
