You really want Joey feckin barton with his Hitler like hair cut and moustache? What next? We buy De Jong?

We do need some steel in the team, but there are plenty of players with heart and desire and affordable! I know desperate times call for desperate mesures, but common guys, this is joey Barton we're talking about. Some of you seem to forget what kind of person he is....

I'd feel sick to my stomach to cheer on someone like him!
And what's wrong with buying De Jong? :?
He's not French

I remarked earlier that given the choice of dm's i would like de jong but barton is not far behind him imo.
Err... :?

I may be French but I also happen to have dutch origins, and I'm a big fan of most Dutch players. De Jong, like Barton are the kind of players that should never be close to any football pitch!

I though that having so many of our own players have their legs broken in half by exactly that kind of violent players would sensibilize some of you, but apparently you'd gladly have them in your team if they can commit assault on other players.

I totally agree that our bunch are soft pussies, and I can understand the frustration of many on here. But The Barton's, the De Jong's, the El Hadji Diouf's are players that I would never want anywhere the club I love.

May I add that you can have fighting spirit in football, and be commited, without feeling the necessity to physically hurt and break the bones of your opponent.

De Jong is a great player, a fantastic DM who is one of Citeh's most important players. He's not the clogger type you think he is, he can actually play football, and very well too. Yes he can be too aggressive at times, but I'd rather have that in my team than a fairy like Denilson who will chicken out of every 50-50. You make De Jong out to be a Karl Henry which is far from what he is. The guy is an international class player who's regarded as one of the best in his position.

We had players like him in the past, most recently Flamini and Lauren who were aggressive bastards. I doubt they (or anyone for that matter) would deliberately want to break an opponent's legs, they are just very committed players and play with an aggressive style which at times can result in bad injuries to opponents but that's football. You need aggressive players if you don't want to be seen as a soft team, which we sadly are.

I don't watch every City game, but I've watched a few this season, and I watch every single Holland game including some times the friendlies when I find a way to catch the game. De Jong is a violent player and is certainly better at kicking into players than in the ball. He broke an U.S players leg last year in a friendly! I will not comment the way he played on the WC final. There's no need also to comment on his tackle vs. Ben-arfa at the beginning of the season. He's even been suspended from national team selection for a while by Bert Van Marwijk for being to violent!

I cannot understand how you qualify Nigel de Jong of great player! Gattuso was a great DM, Gilberto was a great DM, Van Bommel was borderline a great DM, Essien was a great DM... These players would rough you up in a game, intimidate you and leave you at the end of the game with cuts and bruises. They could put in such commitment that sometimes they would go over the line and do more than just "cuts and bruises". Nigel de jong is a player that tries directly to hurt you and take you out. If you watch the way he tackles, this is not over commitment, this is a clear intention to take the opposite player out of the field with sever injury!

There's a difference between once in a while going over the edge and put in a dangerous tackle, and constantly playing with the intention to break the bones of your opponent...

I know everyone likes stats - 53.5% of goals conceded came from set pieces this season, that's 23 goals. For all those who think TV is our saviour........ We conceded 23 goals from set pieces the PREVIOUS season as well!! More proof that Wenger has not dealt with our issues and also more proof that we need a monster who can dominate aerially.
So we'll sign another 5ft 11" CB no doubt

So it begins. All the fake talk from that old *word censored* about wanting players such as Benz.

We cant even reach the asking price for Scott Parker (probably 5-6 mil)
