Lack Of Squad Depth...it will tell in the end.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Lack Of Squad Depth...it will tell in the end.

Post by lowerwest »

I think we all have a fear of what is coming. All those who said we shouldnt invest in Jan or even spend big last summer will see now who is right with the title run in nearly upon us. This season has been phenomenal and eons better than any of us could have wished but come May i have a feeling we will be potless.

Sorry to all those who say Arsene knows...yeah he does but sometimes his principles get in the way.

Well, there will be nobody dancing a jig of delight if we end up with nothing.

I never really bought into the idea of us having a lack of depth.....the two cup defeats have changed that dramatically though!!

Apart from anything i find it disturbing the lack of players on the bench (or even in the squad) that are capable of changing a game, dare I say it...like TH14 could.

i dont think the squad is as bad as people say, the 2 cup nightmares happend with mix and match teams playing against teams far more motivated than us to win, you cant just dismiss players after that. gallas, kolo, hleb and cesc were all shit too do we give up on them?we've got 3 good keepers, song now looks a proper central defender, don't give up on bendtner and all these "injured" players will make miraculous recoveries for the champions league and run in and will all be fresh, remember this time last year the team was knackered....we need to be winning games 2 or 3 nil after an hour and then bring on the kids to give them a chance to step up to first team quality........and RVP must be about ready to explode, can,t wait.

Knowing RVP's track record it is quite possible that him exploding will be his next injury.................

its not a question of who's wrong or right  and i can assure you if arsenal win the league with the squad we have now then all the pessimists will celebrate as mad as anyone,, its the love we have for the team that makes us want to be number one and why we question the lack of investment in the first place...
