Premier League ' Team of the Decade' as voted by Managers

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Is the Neville at right back the same rat-faced moron that was so humiliated by Overmars at home, at the Theatre of Drones, that his manager took him off at half time.
Best RB in the PL over a decade? I'm not even sure he's the best RB in his family.

The trouble is Tony Pulis is the 4th longest serving manager in the Premier League at just under 5 years. There is only Ferguson, Wenger and Moyes who have been with their clubs for most of the last decade. Thierry Henry was Footballer of the Year 3 times in the decade?

Absolute trash. Nothing like this can be taken seriously if it doesn't have at LEAST one or two members of the Invincibles. Vieira, Henry, Campbell, Pires, BERGKAMP.

Sol Campbell should be ahead of Vidic certainly. He played for almost the whole decade at the top level wheras Vidic only signed in 2006.

It would be interesting to see a Football Writer's choice.

He doesn't need to be in this team, he's a winner all on his own

Reet, how about

Schmeichel

Neville Ferdinand Adams (or Campbell) Cole

Ronaldo Scholes Keane Giggs

Henry Shearer

Can't see much wrong with that side- Vieira would be pushing Keane for a starting place, and Bergkamp can feel rightly pissed off to miss out (still one of the best players I have ever seen) but we cant fit everyone in!

What is the criteria? Skill? Technique? Longevity? Consistancy? Genius? Vision?

For me it would be;

Schmeichel

Neville Terry Adams Cole

Pires Keane Vieira

Bergkamp

Henry Shearer

On bench; Ronaldo, Scholes, Drogba, Campbell, Giggs, Seaman

Slight (cough  ) Arsenal bias and I know the formation looks dodgy but fuck it, Bergkamp HAS to be there - best player I've ever seen (and I include Chippy and Henry in that).

Neville only gets in because he has been so reliable for so long but Dixon and Lauren were both better footballers (but with shorter periods in the actual PL and thus less impact over time)

Giggs is similar to Neville, very reliable and long serving but not a patch on Vieira at his peak.

I exclude Piglips because he is not as good as Terry, Adams or Campbell (oh and he is a cheating druggie cuntbag that thinks he is some kind of icon for modern men or something, the prick).

.................Schmeichel....................

Neville....Sol........Ferdinand.......Cole

..........Vieira..Scholes...Keane..........

.................Bergkamp.....................

......Ronaldo............Henry...............

Shearer, Drogba, Carvalho, Terry, Zola, VDS, Pires, Fabregas,Denilson  ,Gerrard...

I loathe to put Neville in at fullback, he was a good solid defender but nothing more and it's only lack of competition in that position that gets him in...Also on reflection can't really put Adams in he was past his best in this era, tbh both Sol and Daffy were better as were Terry and Carvalho ...Shearer just misses out due to formation....

That team of the decade is an absolute insult to The Invincibles.

Yea Lauren was a good player but i don't think he deserves a slot in this team..He was definitely better at going forward than Neville but Neville was a far better defender and he was a more influential character and for far longer...Even though i don't think either of them were world beaters, as much as i would like to, i think it would be unfair to put Lauren ahead of Neville taking everything in to consideration...
