Champions League Qualifiers
Although if we get knocked out early doors the loss of revenue will make Wenger and the Board tighten their belts even more, so I'm hoping that everyone is praying for an Arsenal victory and qualification to the Champions League group stages.topgoon wrote:If we don't strengthen I could care less whether we get knocked out now or later or end up in the no-hoper cup as it will all amount to the same thing yet more failure.
On the other hand maybe non-qualification will force Wenger and the Board to spend some f**king money, like with Arshavin in January when we were behind Villa, and looked destined not to qualify for the CL.

Our record on Russian & Ukranian soil is abject - we've never won there and although it won't be winter, they will be at a more advanced stage in their preparations than us and physically fitter as the league starts and ends much earlier.
The Greeks and Turks are notoriously poor travellers so regardless of the reception out there I would fancy us over the two legs.
I think if we stay clear of Rubin Kazan, Kiev or Udinese we'll be OK.

Are Celtic qualified for the Champions league at all as reading online it looks like Scotland have fallen below Denmark to get only 1 place. Rangers will also go into the 3rd round qualifying as one of the champions teams with Genk and Copenhagen.SteveO 35 wrote:Not Celtic ??M-50 wrote:One of these will be our opponents in 4th round qualifying:

Ahh, that explains it. To be fair the Scots teams have been fucking abject in the CL for ages now and I've wondered how they manage to cling to that automatic spot._James_ wrote:Are Celtic qualified for the Champions league at all as reading online it looks like Scotland have fallen below Denmark to get only 1 place. Dynamo Kiev, Rubin Kazan, Udinese and Panathanaikos are all decent sides. We're a team who have recently struggled against lower league teams, and if Turnip fucks about not strengthening the team and getting things done, you never know.MadRich wrote:None of the teams should give us any problems but ARSENAL themselves

Don't worry, corrupt UEFA will give us a favorable draw to keep a high-value brand going strong... actually on second thought, they might try to give us a big game to make more money with a big draw
Never know with those twats.
A little worrying though, some of those teams could definitely take advantage of us if we resume our shit form from the end of the 2011 season.
Barriecuda predicts: Standard Liege.

In fact I will probably be rooting for the other team, a stint in the B cup might FINALLY force the board/nutty professor to open their eyes.
