From what I have seen of samba, tv is gonna need a fucking big brush

What i want to know is who is going to clean up around Verm , he's constantly getting drawn out of position...maybe we should move Verm to DCM and bring Samba in next to Djourou...
IMHO not one of our centre halves is worthy of the name bu I think tv is a better player than samba at least

TV would need a fuckin rented industrial strength carpet cleaning Hoover next to those clowns.

Don't fall into the trap of thinking he is not good enough for Arsenal because he plays for a shit side, firstly our standards are fucking low now and judge him on who he is competing against.

Squillaci, Koscienly and Djourou are hopeless.

Don't disagree on the useless bunch of shite defenders you have listed but how many top top teams are chasing samba

i think we need two very good in the air CB like Samba and Alex and push TV5 to left back,

i think then with Szchesney, Sagna, Alex, Samba and TV5 in defence we should hopefully be able to deal with corners and set pieces

Djourou's not hopeless...he's not a bad CB, he's pretty strong in the air and he's pretty quick...he needs a good run in the team without injury and a steady partner before you'll see the best of him though...

I think Samba would be a decent option, could even turn out to be a very good one... but we have this kind of speculation every year now with a big cb proven in the prem and nothing ever happens...I'm doubting whether Wenger takes the slightest notice of anyone in the premiership regardless of fee and regardless of suitability... Taking such an obvious option is beneath him...if he does buy Samba it could be a sign he's prepared to change his ways...that in itself would be a huge plus... whether Samba is a success or not...

No top teams need Samba, they already have great CB's. ManUre have Vidic and Ferdinand, Chavs have Terry, Alex, Ivanovic, D. Luiz, Citeh have Kompany, Toure and are about to get Cahill, Liverpool are loaded for CB's too though not sure I'd call them a top team to be fair.

Fair comment BUT ask yourself this, how many players who top clubs are after are we competing for with regards to their signature?

We really need to detach ourselves from worrying about who other clubs would sign, we need to think about which players would fit in our side and be realistic with what we know he will spend.

Chelsea signed David Luiz, he would never get into our side as we would never spend it.

How tall do you think our back four need to be?

I mean barca's back four are all sort of average height for their respective position, it's all about positioning and orginisation when defending corners.

Djourou reminds me of a young Ferdinand.

Wouldn't give up on him just yet.

Erm, Ferdinand is past it, terry is deffo on the decline, luiz was shit IMO and the usual overrated pl player (massively), alex injury prone plus your naming right backs in there ha ha, toure!!!!! Really, he was shit for us two years ago ;)

Anyhow your argument has more holes in it than a tea bag but that is still not the point......if samba was considered a great defender by other TOP clubs they would be after him.

He's fucking shit, we tolerated him last year because he was the only defender that showed any sort of form, normal service resumed in the last few games.

No your right there, we had absolutely no competition for the signatures of kos and squiddy or before that arshavin....I wonder why.

Why would Utd need him when they've got Vidic? He's in the same mould and wouldn't sit on the bench so why would they want him? Chelsea have Terry as well and he's the same type of no non sense CB as Samba. I can guarantee you if Chelsea or Utd didn't have Terry and Vidic respectively Samba would have been high on their list for potential CB's.

PS since when has Kolo Toure been a RB?
