Always thought he was a bit of a lightweight and so I was a bit surprised when I saw his strike rate.....stats obviously don't lie of course  !

Is it my imagination but didn't he have more than his fair share of luck last season with deflections/ricochets etc?

A cut price African..........who would've thought it eh!! I bet Wenger plays him as a left winger at least half the time if we sign him!

I always watched out for him as he was in my dream team ha-ha

He scored some good goals, has many good qualities. He was fast and can score from range, good with assists and is very creative. Also puts a shift in and is good in 1 on situations unlike Barry, and Cham.

I am exstatic about it to be honest, and frequently said to many an Arsenal fan that we should buy him this summer! Every time he gets a chance , he'll hit the net. Doesn't need 4 shots on goal to score. Fast and strong as well. Hope it's true!!!

100% agree 15 goals in 32 apps i think.

Lets not forget if any striker from any top club had this guys 2nd half of season he would be getting sold for £20+ mil easy

he scored against us and the chavs. He is fast strong and the exact kind of striker we need in terms of style
No point ,he'll only be moved out to the wing or right back.

Would WBA even want Vela back though? I don't have a clue how he's been for them.
Think of what you think of Tottnum and the answer to how Vela has been for WBA is something similar

a fast pacey winger? and you'd rather be happy with Bendy and Arsh on the wing than this fella

I like Odemwingie (?) a lot. He's played upfront and out wide for WBA and has scored from both positions. He's got pace, puts in a shift and looks confident in front of goal. Twice as good as the fat Russian or Bender.
For the right price (I think he's 29 and therefore has little resale potential) he make a good addition.

Hardly the type of world class forward that we need and should be looking to sign, perhaps thats a sign of the ambition of the club these days, we should be looking for way better than him, instead of doing things on the cheap yet again

Jeez I dunno if it is me getting picky but none of these guys we are meant to be after instill much confidence in me - I mean we all know wenger will sign fcuk all but once upon a time we were at least being linked with signing top quality players but now we are linked with signing this guy, or samba or the ox who are the type of players that gus ceaser is a legend used to say "can do a job" and he wasnt being complimentary either

People keep saying that this summer wenger knows that he has to up his game big time in the quality of players he buys but these same fans are talking up these guys as good purchases :? We finished in 4th place last season people, a full 12 pts behind the worst manc team in twenty years so can you honestly put your hand on your heart and say that these guys can lift us up to the top level next season ? For me these are squad buys not first team players and imo it is first team players we need first and foremost and then if there is still cash in the kitty we can look into strengthening the squad. I know that these are only rumoured transfer targets but have we really sunk so low in expectations that signing players from blackburn, southampton and the baggies is now classed as a good days work ? :(

i've come to the conclusion it dont matter who we sign.
wenger could get messi tomorrow and by the start of august he'd coach every last drop of talent outta him.

wenger-" right leo,all this beating 6 players and firing one into the top corner has got to stop.didnt you see that back on the halfway line, you had denilson wide open for a 5 yard sideways pass.why go to all the exhausting effort of running past people when you could just bore them to death with endless tippy tappy passes untill the admit defeat to the ref.
from now on im gonna try you at right back"

He's average. Sign people like him and we're heading out of the top 4.

Thank god I thought I was going to be the only one! He's average, nothing more, nothing less...

As Augie said, can't believe people can be satisfied with this kind of "big signing"...
