PRE-SEASON FRIENDLIES

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm so tempted just to cough up for Benfica. One of the top grounds on my "to visit" list...

I'd just got back from the Bahamas, and Hannover was hotter!

Went to the Stadium of light back in 1992, we drew 1-1 (Campbell) and were hotly tipped to make a big impression that year after thumping the mighty Austria Vienna 5-1 at home in the previous round.

we got beat at home 3-1 (in extra time) :(

Remember it well - was a rare appearance in the Clock End for me that night. Isias wasn't it - one of the last fine beards in football.

I seem to remember at 2-1 down Adams having a great chance or hitting the post or something, then they just broke and killed us off and the press said that we were completely outplayed, which wasn't quite to the truth (some things don't change)

£200 return on the nose from Gatwick with Greasyjet. Out Friday evening, back Sunday evening. You can shave about £50 off that by going via Madrid but that takes too fucking long, or by going Ryanair to Porto but then you've gotta spend £60 & three hours on a train to Lisbon.

Pricey perhaps but I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure they'll put paid to the myth that you can't generate atmosphere in a spacebowl
