I went to Kiev first time we played them in the 90's. Fantastic trip apart from the footy! Met up with about 8 other Gooners and spent the afternoon in a bar run by two birds, one blonde one brunette, and we sang just about every Arsenal song ever! Loads of beers and vodka. While moving from one bar to another early on, a TV crew stopped us and we made the local news  Only spoilt by playing shit and losing, in the pouring rain. When we got off the coach at the stadium just before kick off the police took my mate to one side for no reason, along with 5 others. I put up a bit of a drunken protest and the copper put his hand on his gun and told me to go! I finally met my mate again after the game back at the coach, he said they let them go just after kick off, and they were told the police had instruction to detain 6 people (for no reason).
Would still go back!

Ukraine

Can't remember the airport, we had a Bit of a coach ride into the city centre and then to the stadium later that afternoon. Think we went with Flight Options on that trip. Beer was very cheap, except the firstbar we went in, down some stairs, lookedike a brothel or strip club! Guy charged us $5 each for one beer, in the bar run by the two birds beer was a fraction of that price so watch out for being ripped off (everywhere took dollars if I remember rightly). Our guide, who joined us on the coach said all the authorities are corrupt in Ukraine, from the Govt. To the police force, all mafia run. Not sure if it's changed now?

This seems to be the draw for the round before Arsenal would join the champions league. Twente get a long trip.

R. Standard de Liège (BEL) v FC Zürich (SUI)
FC Twente (NED)* v FC Vaslui (ROU)
SL Benfica (POR)* v Trabzonspor AŞ (TUR)
FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) v FC Rubin Kazan (RUS)*
Odense BK (DEN) v Panathinaikos FC (GRE)*

I was on that trip too mate.

Great stuff. Kiev was great - beer, vodka and lovely birds. Bit dangerous though. :?

R. Standard de Liège *(BEL) v FC Zürich (SUI)
FC Twente (NED)* v FC Vaslui (ROU)
SL Benfica (POR)* v Trabzonspor AŞ (TUR)
FC Dynamo Kyiv (UKR) v FC Rubin Kazan (RUS)*
Odense BK (DEN) v Panathinaikos FC (GRE)*
Yes indeed.

The team with the * is seeded in the above draw, and if they all win their games then Bayern, The Arsenal, Lyon, Benfica and Villareal would be seeded.

Means we get one of Dinamo Kiev, Udinese, Panathinaikos, FC Twente or Standard Liege.

My personal opinion, Liege are going to get turned over by FC Zürich, and then a one in five to get my dream scenario.

:-P

All of those are sweet trips, although i'm not sure i'll be able to get the time off work as i'm going away a week later  Pana would be my first choice, followed by Kiev & Zurich. Probably won't do Benfica if we get them as i'm going to the friendly in a few weeks...
