England v Swiss

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

that's because he is shit, just like the other fucking cretins in our defence, on last season evidence

I fear for the medium-term future of the England team.

In defence, we've no back-up RB and after Rio and Terry (neither of whom look at their best) it's a long drop to the next best CB.

Like us, England don't seem to have a DM worth the name.

After Rooney, who is inconsistent, it's another long drop (Bent, Defoe, Crouch???)

Unless a few more Jacks appear we'll all be able to relax every Summer because England won't be qualifying for many tournaments.

I love how the media try and pin everything on Capello. I know he's made mistakes, but some of the players want to have a look at themselves too. I mean those goals today were so soft, that's not Capello's fault.

Watching England is such a chore, it's embarrassing that we look so uncomfortable with the ball.

Time for Lampard step aside too.

And it's time for that band to fuck off too. I hate that I'll never be able to watch England in my lifetime without those mugs playing in the background. Seriously embarrassing, and I feel sorry for anyone there who tries to create of bit of an atmosphere only for those c**ts to start up again.
You talk alot of sense when not talking about Arsenal

Djourou has never looked class. The line that he was brilliant before injury is just another form of rose tintedness. He is not even average, yes had a few OK games but he is not good enough for Arsenal, end of. We need two CBs this summer, not one.

England has the same problem Italy did in 2010. It's built on names and reputation from league play. Proper national teams are built in the same way clubs are - you find players who fit into the tactical system, who will play/abide by it, and will have chemistry with each other. Some countries seemingly have talents that are more interchangable; a particular facet of the South American game, for example, with their culture all being related to short passing and movement off the ball.

Instead, England (IMO largely due to the media and pressures of the public) continue to rely on puzzle pieces that do not fit together. Rather than opt to find better fitting pieces, they try to hammer them together to make the best of a disjointed picture because it "must be" that Terry piece, that Rooney piece, etc.

I'd put some young talents on the field and see what they can do together playing as a unit. Find a couple midfielders that work well with Wilshere (probably the future cog of the team) and put in a striker that isn't so self-centered - maybe a Zamora type for example.

Basically what you're saying is that lampard needs to be dropped off a cliff and if his cuntface mates dont like it they can join him.

He has been clogging up England's midfield and unbalancing our attack for years.

It's surprising that so many want more English players at Arsenal while the general opinion seems to be that most of them are over-rated in so many ways...
