Dont get me wrong i know he's a *word censored*, but ...........
I think he has highlighted all of the major issues at our club in such a few amount of words, be it refusing to pay the money to senior players and waste it on long contract extentions to Mr's Denilson, Bentdner, Rosicky basically all of the shit!
Most importantly lack of winning mentality!
Also im starting to wish he smacked that gready little *word censored* Nasri round the chops!
Tottenham Hotspur defender William Gallas believes Arsene Wenger made a mistake in letting him leave Arsenal.
Gallas departed Emirates Stadium for bitter rivals Spurs last summer after failing to agree a new contract with the Gunners.
And the 33-year-old demonstrated he can still cut it in the Premier League following a solid debut season at White Hart Lane.
Of his decision to part company with the Gunners, Gallas told L'Equipe: "I left Arsenal because we could not agree on a financial level.
"They decided to not make the effort to keep me, it is a choice I respect, and they respected the fact I didn't want the wages they proposed.
Wrong
"Did Arsene Wenger make a mistake in not keeping me? He made a choice, but indeed I believe he made a mistake.

Quotes of the week
"In the street, Arsenal's fans asked me why I left. The coach thought I was a finished player. I proved he was wrong."
Gallas endured a controversial time at Arsenal, in particular during his period as captain of the club.
Reflecting on his much-publicised clashes with a number of his former Gunners team-mates, he said: "When I was captain I wanted to give a message, but they didn't get it.
"I may have been clumsy, but the substance was right.
Ugly duckling
"I came from Chelsea where I won titles, and I wanted to share my experience, because I thought we missed commitment in our work.
"My message has not been understood and I am also responsible for that. But unfortunately the last season showed that team still misses something.
"It is too easy to say all the Arsenal problems came from William Gallas."
Gallas also commented on his relationship with French compatriot Samir Nasri, the pair having fallen out after a dispute over France's Euro 2008 campaign.
He stated: "Samir Nasri? People tried to show me as an ugly duckling, but the images showed the contrary. Samir Nasri knows the problem. He can't lie to himself."

What this tells me is not matter what leaders we all wish the club will buy, how will they fit in this team, could you imagine players not listening to TA6, PV4, TH14, DB10, LD2, MK5, NW3 it just wouldnt happen, thats how far this team has dropped into comfort! I find it absolutely shocking, what is the manager and the backroom staff doing, every player that has an opinion or is vocal is allowed to leave even those who have left that we didnt like, Ade, Kolo would have added to this shower of shit!
Mixed feelings about these comments and him as an individual
I think he always likes to create theatre and hence there is always a twist in what he says for effect. The guy has also been overlooked by France and is also feeling somewhat embittered at the moment.
I didn't necessarily disagree with his comments when he was here at times, but his theatrics went a bit far too.
As a defender I still think he is a far superior player to Koscielny and Squillaci - a pair that have cost us the best part of €15m + wages since Gallas left, and in that regard I can't see the great advantage we're supposed to get by not resigning players of a certain age.

Good player and good defender.
Strong desire to win.
But very much his own man who seems to have rubbed others in the squad the wrong way.
That may have been because he was professional and they were slackers?
Either way it appears to have detracted from team unity, but team unity does not equal team spirit, as the end of season collapse has shown.
I would have thought that Gallas and Campbell were worth another season, during which Koscielny could have been given time to adapt from French to English football.

In seriousness though, I don't hate Gallas. If these rumours about Nasri's interest in ManU turn out to be true then perhaps Gallas was right all along about him...
Brilliant player, and a winner, and I think that the problems that he had with the other players in our squad was that they didn't want to win as much as him.REBEL GOONER wrote:gallas only cared about gallas but was a fighter and a damn good player. but i dont think he was right for the club and caused too much in fighting so we are better off that he left.
Our players don't seem to care about winning at all costs, and are in their little comfort zone of '4th is a Trophy', and I know that if I was in Gallas's position I would be causing a lot of 'in-fighting' as well, trying to raise the effort levels of our pampered little bottlers to one that I could accept.

Gallas was a *word censored* but he was a winner, he was driven out of the club because he would not accept what many on here speak out about, the lack of drive and desire.
In hindsight he was spot on, his message got lost because he was never forgiven for Birmingham and because he came from Chelsea, looking back at the Birmingham incident, we crave players that hate to lose, ok he looked a *word censored* but it killed him to drop points like that, should that desire to win really be slated?

Another thread with we hate AW-itis clouding rational thinking.
I Gallas only got bombed out because he spoke the truth then why did Mourinho known by most of his ex-players as a brilliant man manager end up having a problem with him....
All the 'trouble-maker' in the French squad from the summer most have retired from international football but Gallas who had one of his best seasons for a while yet he's not welcomed back into the French fold.
I saw Sakho's defending tonight and on Saturday night, he was average at best. There is no way you would not bring back a player like Gallas when the rest of your options are inferior as that.
Gallas is trouble, he will eventually speak out of turn at the filth.
Close to the end of the season, he already tried it by complaining about how the filth weregoing to miss out on champs league. Watch and see how he behaves if they have a bad start to the end of the season.
I have had enough of AW lack of improving the squad but the best thing he did was get rid of 2 a-holes in greedy and Gallas. The problem was he didn't replace either of them with proven quality.

I'm sorry but Gallas was a fucking loser too. I will never forget his antics at Brum, embarrassing twat. Don't tell me this guy was any different from the rest, he was just as big a bottler/loser but with a big mouth. He would blame all and sundry without looking at himself first. I remember the *word censored* bottling aerial challenges/ 50-50's etc and he never put his body on the line for the club.donaldo wrote:Gallas was stripped of the captaincy and then bombed out of the club for saying what most of us on here have been saying for years. He told the truth about Wengers precious bunch of losers.
