team news for ac milan game
Arsene Wenger is set to axe Jens Lehmann after Arsenal's FA Cup mauling at Manchester United.
Arsenal boss Wenger has been boosted by the return to fitness of Manuel Almunia after illness and the Spanish keeper is ready to come straight back to face AC Milan in the Champions League tomorrow night.
French defender Bacary Sagna, who missed the defeat at Old Trafford because of a family bereavement, also trained yesterday and will face AC Milan.
But the return of Almunia is a major blow to Lehmann, 38, who was hoping a run in the Arsenal first team would help save his place as Germany's No.1 for Euro 2008. That hope now looks in danger.
Lehmann conceded four goals at Old Trafford but was absolved of much of the blame and said yesterday: "I hope to play against Milan."

Almunia
Wenger has to play almunia, he is our 1st choice keeper.
Lehman is on his way out at the end of the season, and to be honest he hasnt been that impressive since coming back.
Almunia had been pretty much solid all season.

hi
Its going to be Lehman, Almunia hasnt yet recovered...
Lehman hands down for me - there is no comparison in the quality of the keepers and as has been said before almunia is not good enough to play for this club as a No.1
We need a top keeper with real intimidating presence and can make the difference in those really big games and while his powers may be on the decline he is still miles ahead of almunia

From playing in games like the CL final and against ManU're at Highbury when we are shit & lose 4-2.burns718 wrote:so how does almunia get the big game experiance then if you keep playin lehman? its obvious wenger wants to keep almunia (so do i) so he has to play these games. remember as far as keepers go he is quite young aint he
He's had his chance in big games and showed he can't deal with the pressure. Almunia might be a better chioce for Birmingham and Sunderland but everytime he's got a chance in a big game he's screwed up.

Gael Clichy, Mathieu Flamini and Emmanuel Adebayor were on duty at Manchester United last Saturday despite being troubled by hamstring injuries. All those will be ready to play against the Champions League holders at Emirates Stadium.
Bacary Sagna is available while Denilson and Theo Walcott have been added to the squad. However Manuel Almunia is still recovering from a virus so Jens Lehmann will keep his place

Hasn't been that impressive? I'm assuming you've seen the same games as me. Lehmann commands the penalty area so much better and his reading of the game is top class. Almunia is a chump who loses his head in the big games.
