Haven't seen the video but just found out from Ceefax the FA will take no action against Willie. Quite right too - barely a nudge and Nani deserved it and more. The Flaminal's lunge was worse but what Nani did was just unprofessional. It was meant as a wind up and the response was predictable. Even Fergusmoan disapproved. At last, someone up there cares about the Arsenal!

ALTHOUGH IF I HAD BEEN PLAYING I WOULD HAVE REACTED THE SAME AS GALLAS AND FLAMINI, I THINK ARSENE WENGER AND ARSENAL ARE RISKING BEING CHARACTERISED AS CHURLISH WITH THOSE COMMENTS ABOUT SHOW-BOATING.

I'VE SEEN HENRY DO SOMETHING SIMILAR IN AN ARSENAL SHIRT AND ANYWAY, ISN'T THE GAME ALSO ABOUT DISPLAYING SKILL?

i think red would have been harsh on willie, anyway how come the nani little headbutt on willie after the kick has gone past without comment, i thought the meeting of heads was an automatic sending off in the rule book

I don't see why Arsene and all were so sceptical of Nani's showboating. Yes I may feel nothing but loathing for Man United but things like that make the game more entertaining.

Afterall Thierry Henry all but patented the running while doing 5 or 6 keepy-uppies and no-one minded then, infact Arsenal fans (myself included) would cheer just like the Mancs did on Saturday.

When you are showboating whilst the game is still in the balance I think that is one thing, but when the game is out of sight and you are trying to take the piss is another. This would be the main reason the players and manager were pissed off. Sure Henry showboated but usually at 1-0 or 0-0 just like Ronaldinho does.

I couldn't believe Wenger complained! If he's showboating fucking tackle the prick, if we're going to show so little passion and committment that he can get away with it then fair play to the lad, if anything the fact that all Hoyte could do was watch it for a bit then fall over might make Wenger realise that the reserve players simply aren't good enough or are a long way off being good enough! I'm sure Nani is the same age as Hoyte yet look at the gulf in talent!

Didn't see Flamini taking any crap when he tackled him

BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE NANI GET A KICKING FROM SOMEONE ELSE IN THE FUTURE, THAT'S WHY.

AND FOR PEOPLE TO CLAIM THIERRY ONLY SHOW-BOATED WHEN THE SCORE WAS 0-0 OR 1-0, IS NONSENSE. ALTHOUGH A NATURAL SHOW-OFF ANYWAY, I REMEMBER HIM TAUNTING AND TEASING DEFENDERS NUMEROUS TIMES WHEN WE WERE WELL AHEAD.

IT'S EXACTLY WHEN A TEAM IS WINNING COMFORTABLY THAT THEY CAN AFFORD TO AND DO START SHOWING OFF - NOT LIKE SOME OF OUR PLAYERS WHO TRY IT WHEN THE GAME IS STILL IN THE BALANCE.

LIKE I SAID IN MY ORIGINAL POST, THIS COMPLAINING ABOUT NANI'S BALL JUGGLING ONLY MAKES US LOOK CHURLISH AND SILLY IN THE EYES OF THE MEDIA AND MAJORITY OF FOOTBALL LOVERS EVERYWHERE.  IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF ARSENE HAD SAID NOTHING IN PUBLIC, BUT MADE SURE THE PLAYERS GOT THEIR REVENGE IN THE FORTHCOMING LEAGUE GAME.

BY THE WAY, WELL SAID GOONANANA. 8)

I thought Gallas should have been sent off but I'm glad he didnt get a red and hearing that he will get no ban has cheered me up no end.

No thanks to purple nose who was saying "I hope the fa look at that after the game".

Muppet - he never changes.

IHH please read my post again. You will find I didn't say Henry only showboated at 0-0 or 1-0, I said usually. Of course he did it with the game in the bag, who could forget what he did to Danny Mills at Highbury a few years back, deliberatly seeking him out so he could dribble the ball around him time and again. And Mills was furious with this, equally was Sinclair at West Ham when Henry juggled the ball around the pitch whilst 3-1 up. And I feel rightly so.

Now I may play on a vastly inferior level (Power League wednesday nights) but a few months back when we were getting spanked 12-3 or something our opponents began showboating. I'm not ashamed to admit they certainly received a good few heavy tackles. It's not the showboating that bothers me it's the lack of respect to your opponents when the game is clearly finished.
