can you post some of your songs youve made DB10? i assume youve never ever played someone elses tune on your guitar? must be a fucker inventing new chords too

But having said that, I can bet my bojos I'd make a better go of it than if I handed my Ibanez to 99.99% of DJ's and asked them to do some shredding!

Again, I allude to my footballer/person showing football videos metaphor.

My sides are aching, my facial muscles are tired and I have had tears streaming down my face for the last 10 minutes.

That has to be the funniest rant I've read since I joined this place. Especially the Iraq bit.

I was Engineering Manager for BBC Radio Broadcast for several years and met this muppet on several occasions. When he doesn't have the public eye on him or ear listening to him he is a completely different character and only slips into his persona when the mic or camera is on.

He is the butt of many in-house jokes at the Beeb and regarded as a figure of fun by most.

He may well have done well for hip-hop music and so fair play to him for that but he is simply not the man he seems when on air.

Didn't know you worked in radio, Percy. What was it like? Apart from Westwood did you meet any other "famous" punters that turned out to be different to what you imagined?

Didn't know you worked in radio, Percy. What was it like? Apart from Westwood did you meet any other "famous" punters that turned out to be different to what you imagined?

I looked after all the power and cooling that allows the BBC in Central London to broadcast so my portfolio included Broadcasting House (BBC worldwide HQ, Radio 4 and 6), Western House (Radio 2 & 5), Yalding House (Radio 1 & 1 Xtra), Marylebone High St (BBC Radio London) and BBC World Service on The Strand. On top of that I also looked after Maida Vale studios where they record Live Lounge stuff and the BBC Orchestra play.

I have met more people than I can remember including The Queen when Broadcasting house was reopened after a major refit.

As for other celebs, most of the famous DJ's, first name terms with Terry Wogan and got a mention from Chris Moyles for our good service on air as well as several pints with him in The Stag pub just off Great portland St.

Most of them are pretty ok people but a mention has to go to Steve Wright for being a jumped up dick of a man. Not the brightest of people who despite the building being completely no smoking would complain that his studio smelt of cigar smoke. He was the one smoking the cigars

One moment that stands out is getting in a lift on one of the upper floors of Broadcasting House and being in it alone with Ozzy Osbourne. I literally prayed that the lift would not break down until the doors opened as I can only imagine what being entrapped with him would be like.

A disappointment is being face to face with females who appeared hot on TV but are rather less impressive in the flesh. That doesn't apply to Gwen Steffani though who remains the most naturally beautiful woman I have seen close up. Flawless without a hint of make up!

Have to admit Gwen Steffani is a real looker.

Always thought Steve Wright was a bit of a plank so happy to have that confirmed.
