We can't afford to lose him mate, though I agree his behaviour last season at times was appalling, the Barca love-in in particular a serious low point. I hope he's stripped of the captaincy but we can't let him go.franksav63 wrote:He hardly played in the world cup, he was on the bench coming on as sub, and anyway after the way he 'gayed' about with his Barca bum chums, I hope he does fuck off.rigsby wrote:This is not true. 1 He was injured last year, then went to the World Cup. No player has a great season after a World Cup. RVP only got going later in the year. Our two best players Nasri-Jack, both ahd free summers. I think people skip over just how important a rest and a good pre season are for players.Yes, agree, of course he did, Cesc's performances last season mirrored that of Henry's last season to a tee... last season syndrome.... Get rid so we can move on to the next player to take their place in a summer transfer will he, won't he go fiasco...
And why would we get rid of him, I'ld put up with this every summer if it meant Cesc remained at Arsenal. Nobody can serious WANT Cesc to leave.
Cesc must quit for Barca

I've said it before but this 'Cesc shouldn't have been greeting his mates/international colleagues before a game' bollocks is just that - bollocks!! As I've also pointed out before, Patrick and Thierry - among others - have often done that sort of thing in the past when playing against their friends/former team-mates and no-one criticised them.
I think the using of that incident to denigrate Cesc and make out it proves he doesn't care about Arsenal is not only harsh but wrong and I think mainly down to the fact that in that match Cesc made that mistake on the edge of our box which allowed Barca to open the scoring in the 2nd Leg. Had that not happened, I'm sure the criticism of his commitment would have been less than it subsequently was.
Likewise the claim that he wasn't bothered about playing his best this past season because his head was at Barca is far from the truth. There can be no doubt that coming back late from representing Spain, the constant injuries and playing when not fully fit had an impact on both the number of appearances and to some extent the level of his performances. Yet he still scored a few goals and had an assists total well into double figures (as opposed to nasri who had just the one assist!).
Plus I read somewhere that Fabregas - even in a disappointing season by his high standards - created more goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates last year than any other player, not only in England, but in the top 5 European Leagues!! Can we really afford to lose a talent like that willy nilly because some people are pissed off with/choose to believe all the bullshit being said by Barca and written by the media?

The only thing I would say there Hlebby is the nature of his greeting was a bit OTT. TH14 & PV4 would greet one or two Frenchmen in an oppo team, most internationals do. No problem with that. It is a SPORT after all. But Cesc (if I remember correctly, I was a bit drunkishI Hate Hleb wrote:I've said it before but this 'Cesc shouldn't have been greeting his mates/international colleagues before a game' bollocks is just that - bollocks!! It was a poor decision by Cesc but I agree it is hardly the end of the world. But it did just highlight further for me that while he is a world class player (anyone that cannot see that has epic problems IMHO) he is not a very good captain.
I really dont think he's done all that much wrong. I've never actually seen him say he wants to go back to Barca specifically, or at least not from any sources I'd trust. What I have seen is him saying he is happy at Arsenal. It's now "common knowledge" that he "obviously wants to leave" because the papers say so and other people think "well I f*ckin would!"- usually Arsenal fans who are rightly cinical
Whatever he wants, if Barca wont offer realistic money then he should stay. I dont believe him or Nasri will go this summer.

Well don't forget, he's worth less because he played less season. "Wear and tear" I think they called it.Dan_85 wrote:They've just spunked £38m on Alexis Sanchez & want Cesc for £30m?! :awnker:

What a bunch of fucking morons.
In this market, if we took anything less than 40m for Cesc, I would be incensed. We should be able to get 50-60 for him, but everyone knows Arsenal's softness when it comes to transfer dealings will not get us top dollar.
F Torres: injury prone and inconsistent, 50m
A Sanchez: young, unproven, raw talent, 38m
Cesc: proven player, captain, Catalan descent, 30m?
You're havin a laugh!

Hill-wood said that we dont want to sell cesc as opposed to saying that we will not sell cesc - a deliberate choice of words or yet another fcuk up for our senile silver spooned dickhead chairman ?

Add to that Andy Carroll 35m and 30m for someone of Cescs ability is not near enough. Although looking at football manager Modric is miles betterBarriecuda wrote:Well don't forget, he's worth less because he played less season.
