So that's Cesc staying then

Had we not signed Fabregas we would have won something in the past 6 years. That is what matters!

Had we not signed Cesc it would have been Merida that would have likely to have come though, probably captain and flirting with Madrid for the 2 or 3rd season.
Same shit, different players

Don't think so, IMO without Cesc we wouldn't have tried to build a team playing fucking tika-taka, as we wouldnt have had a cornerstone round which to build it, which was a massive mistake.

The biggest reason for Arsenal being the way they have been over the past 6 years is purely down to Wenger. He has stuck with almunia all these years. He hasn't got a clue what a good defender is (Vermaalen was a fluke), he hasn't got a clue what a good captain looks like (which is strange because he ought to know managing the likes of Adams and Vieira). And he still doesn't understand that van Persie only plays half a season.

If it wasn't for the fact that Wenger had no choice but to play Chesney, and the fact that van Persie came back from injury, we would have finished 5/6th.

Its not cescs fault that he is not a good captain. It wasn't gallas fault that he wasn't a good captain. It wasn't henrys fault either. It's wengers fault for being so pigheadedly stubborn

So you think that without Cesc we would have made the same mistakes? I really don't.

Sure, he's a world class player, and the decision wasn't his, but he is massively holding back the team.

Clearly that is the case and when diaby takes over his position next season then just watch this team go

Nasri or Wilshere would both be better IMO as they would have a somewhat more direct, fast style.

The problem is when you have one lad from Barca, trying to play like Barca doesn't work BECAUSE THE OTHER 10 CAN'T!

Nasri will not speed up our game and I would go so far as to suggest he would actually slow our game down even more

"They ( Barca ) have been in touch. But so far they have not made a bid and we do not want to let him go.

"But he comes from Barcelona so it is understandable if he wanted to go back. However, they have not made an offer so far.
Another brilliant sound bite from PHW.

Have mother fuckers gone crazy round here?

It is suggested that:

1. We've built a team around Fabregas for the last 6 years.

and

2. His influence on the playing style of the club contributes hugely to the large possession/no end product repetitive shit we've been seeing lately.

Well

1. So where is this fucking team then? There isn't one player who could be classed as being good enough for the better teams in our division let alone the rest of Europe.

Had a team built around him indeed.

2. Fabreags has the best and most diverse passing range in our entire squad. Long, short, fast, slow, threaded, direct. You name it he can do it.
It is no coincidence that we look better with him in the team, no coincidence that we create more clear cut opportunities when he plays. That the rest of the squad is not capable of producing results when he is not playing can be attributed to this myth of him having a team built around him, capable of carrying the load when he is not palying or off key.

When Bergkamp wasn't up to it, Henry was ready to carry the load. No Henry, Pires could take up the mantle. Pires having a bad day, up steps Freddie. And if they all were off key Vieria could take a game by the scruff of the next.

So we have 5 invincibles capable of winning games, inspiring the team.

And 1 Fabregas. On his own. Poor bastard.

cesc has been holding back the skills and quality of:

Almunia, Fabianski, Eboue, Denilson, Bendtner, Arshavin, Squilaci, Silvestre etc.

Yeah ok.
