My Blog

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Flash has just popped to the shops, but when he's back I'll be sure to let him know.

Im gutted if this is true… Alvarez?! Hardly Benzema, and okay he may perform well in the Argentinian league, but he’s hardly a big name that Arsenal need. This could indeed just be another Denilson. I’m not saying he’s a bad player, I know nothing of him, but still I don’t want to see these obscure signings I want to see big names that will win us trophies!
You're gutted we might sign him. He's hardly Benzema. He's not a big name. And, bizarrely, you conclude that he might be another Denilson :?

Yet, just so we know that you're basing this assessment on nothing whatsoever, you then admit you know nothing about him  :?

Honestly, good luck with your blog mate BUT I'm of the opinion that it should be QUALITY and not quantity, so perhaps you should do some research before posting? otherwise, what do you actually offer the general public other than more waffle? - there's too much of that as it is, so why not put a bit more effort in the quality of your contributions to the web? unless you're just aiming for a vanity blog of little or no substance... in which case, carry on I guess!

the guy looks good in any case a tall fast player who can dribble and shoot, if he can handle the pace why can't he be a great addition.

Well at least this is constructive, cheers. :)

  he's constructively telling you it's a pile of shit!

Let me put my constructive hat on...

If you're going to ask people to read your blog, then give them a reason to do so. I read this place mainly because I respect some of the contributors on here (g88ner being one), and others I find funny, so I know what I'm getting.

Maybe tell us why we should choose to waste our valuable time on your blog instead of reading a book or something.

Then again, I guess you are maybe a young guy for whom this world of just putting any old information out there is commonplace and natural, and well, fair enough that's the internet for you.

Me personally, I like to be seduced.

There's 3 blogs I like, and they're all very different. There's the more focused, researched YoungGuns which I think really does offer a fresh insight. There's the 'round up everything' Arseblog that offers little in the way of insightful opinion, but is good at offering commentary on the previous days goings ons (Goodplaya and Gunnerblog are similar) Then there's the very opinionated Myles Palmer's ANR, which although a bit controversial and inaccurate, does get you thinking sometimes, even if you don't always agree with him.

I'd say, at the moment, yours is more a round-up-everything commentary, with a very opinionated slant to it. That's fine, as long as your opinion is based on something... anything. Your comments on Alvarez read like a rant, and wasn't insightful at all as you admitted you knew nothing about him. A bit of research and background information could have given weight to your argument, but without it reads as irrelevant waffle... to me, anyway (much like my posts on here  )

Anyway, good luck.

Look, I understand that most of you here think I'm simply trying to get as many views on my blog. I admit that is partly the point, as much as wanting give people my view of things at Arsenal. There is no reason why you should read it, look at it or even comment about, but you all choose to comment about. Which is fair, everyone has an opinion and yours about it being shit or a waste of time may perhaps be true.

To marcengels: You're right I am young, and no the internet isn't for any old thing, I know that however it is still my option to run a blog and if I want to for whatever reason I have, and I do have my own reasons.
I respect all your comments and you are right g88ner probably if not was saying it's a pile of shit. But at the end of the day I admire the truth so I can put the effort in to do more research like he suggested, or to try and improve the quality of my posts. Thats why I admired his comment, just as I admire yours for being brutally honest.
To g88ner: Thanks again for the comments and I will do my research, I do agree after reviewing many of my posts that they are rubbish, and I plan to try and improve the quality.
If you don't want to look at my blog, I honestly don't care, I can't have everything the way I want, but there is no harm in trying to get more people to look at it. :)

I don't know how young you actually are, but I wouldn't be suprised if you're in compulsory education, maybe you want to go into journalism and are perhaps trying to establish you're writing style and techniques through practice, or maybe it is only about telling other people you're views? (tell us) I'm not going to just put you down and label it as shit, but I'll tell you what I think should be improved.

Maybe I'm missing the point, but I don't think the latest in the music world and the goings on at Arsenal should be fused into a single blog. I'd choose which subject you enjoy writing about most and stick to it, or if you have the time, write two different blogs.

The research side of things has been covered by other posters, you know that needs work.

You posted 3 times on one day (June 24th). In my opinion, those 3 average posts should be condensed into one top quality, well thought out post, otherwise the reader will just get bored with the amount you are writing.

The most important issue is one that you won't really be able to change. Blogs about Arsenal really have been done now, the big names have established themselves (Arseblog etc) as the sites to visit, no matter how quickly you get you're information and opinions up online, it's already been covered elsewhere.

Good luck though.

That's like saying the sun is a bit hot!

Tunegoon: g88ner is much better at saying the right thing, and what he says is very good advice.

I wish you all the best, I won't be reading because I just generally don't as I'm really not that interested in football talk ( yes, I know), all I would say is try to find a unique selling point, and don't give up when some lunatic tries to discourage you.
