Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If both those things happen, he'll be out for a good 9/10 months in no time.

May even get a chance to say bye bye to Cesc and Nasri at the same time......

I think we will sell more than we bring in

Cesc will go
Nasri will go
Clichy will go

And average players like gervyhed will come in and Wenger will expect us to be happy about it

Players like Gervyhed and Ricky Martinez should be additions not stars
If all of the stronger rumours of ins and outs turn out to be true then sad to say we'll start next season weaker than that we ended the last.....

Cesc going has always seemed inevitable. But Nasri and Clichy (even with his regular concentration lapses!) leaving would be two steps backwards and will need to replaced with experienced internationals just to get us back to square one!

The Nasri situation is utterly baffling given Cesc's departure. What's 20 grand? Fuck off the usueless shit and give Sam the money. We'll only spen more trying to replace him.

I'm telling you whoever is in charge of these negotiations is an idiot.

Now that Man United have signed De Gea, I'm going to be really pissed when Wenger doesn't at least TRY to sign Maarten Stekelenburg from Ajax.

Apparently we are in advanced talks with Craig Gordon.

Read that last week.

no gk will be signed.

i wil be very pleased if cahill signs (not proven at the highest level but hes a fighter and the media rate him a lot and preferable to samba plus hes mates with wilshere), gervinho my reaction is meh.

the most worrying thing is absolutely no serious links with a DM. our defence wouldnt be half as shit as it is if we had a decent DM, rather than making do with song, and being fooled into thinking hes the answer as we've come to accept his improvemnets to average as the sign of a good player as we have forgotten what we once had.

Song can make that step up, but he needs competition to keep him on his toes. Frimpong is highly rated at Arsenal maybe this is why we're not linked to anyone in that area.

Alternatively if we did sign Cahill AND Samba, could TV be there?

Koscielny would make a top DM I reckon. Has all the qualities for the role.

I don't believe we will sign both Cahill and Samba. With Cahill/Samba + Vermaelen, Djourou and Koscielny we have four (very) decent centre backs I think.

Don't agree.

In Djourou and Koscielny, we have two dopey arseholes, who are very ordinary centre backs.
