Traore - too much too soon?

Traore - too much too soon?

Post by QuartzGooner »

I think Armand Traore will end up being a left sided midfielder.

PROS:
He is fast, strong, good tackler and has a good workrate.
This allows him to tackle back, and his crossing and passing when in final third are ok, and can be improved in training.

CONS:
I do not think he has correct positioning level for a player his age.
He is not too good at marking at set pieces.

Looking at his PROS, I feel his future lies ahead of Clichy on the left wing.
Rosicky seems to be injured a lot.
Walcott is three seasons from being ready.

We will need cover at left back.

Kieran Gibbs and Gavin Hoyte look good prospects there, or we can buy someone.

I think Traore can be our left-back in future but he has a lot to learn. He doesn't look as good as Clichy did at his age. You could trust Clichy when he was 18 in big games but you can't trust Traore for most games right now. He has pace but I was at the Arsenal vs Spurs match and he got out-sprinted by Lennon a couple of times, so he isn't that fast.

I rated him the past couple of seasons when he has been playin in the Carling Cup games, but i have to say, this season, he has been our worst player by far!

You might think im being slightly harsh on him considering his age, but i think hes awful and i think a move away from arsenal in the summer wouldnt be a bad thing.

I mean, lets face it, Clichy's pretty muc the same age and is not going anyway, thank god!

The really big games seem a step too far for him. Against the 'lesser' opposition of the CC he has looked impressive but against sp**s and manure yesterday he looked out of his depth.

Possibly a loan spell next season to give him more match time. Lets face it with Clichy seeming invinsible and a real regular he is unlikely to get much experience other than the CC games

What do people think??

we need a decent replacement left back, there are no two ways about it. i think traore has a lot of talent, he showed that in cardiff, he has speed but he has no awareness, he is always unaware of where the player he is marking is and we usualy concede due to this.
There is no doubt that the cliche is godly but he is not immortal and he like every other player will get injured.

Traore IS fast.

Lennon is faster but Traore is fastest player in first team as revealed by official time tests.

Fastest player in squad over short sprints is Gavin Hoyte.

I fear that Traore will not be a defender all the time he's got a hole in his arse. Move him on to the wing and you never know.

I hear he's seeing Shringham's ex (Mandy Smith's sister) so perhaps a bit too much of the good life is affecting the youngster.

I fear that Wenger will ship him on a loan & it'll be the last time we'll see our knuckle duster player

he hasn't done too well for himself this season TBH, amazing for us in the run for the final with such little experience he still played in them all
