Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'll admit I've only ever seen him play on youtube but I was pretty impressed and a bit disappointed when they let him go. He's got a long way to go still but for a youth prospect he's not half bad :)

EDIT: From SS
News: Nicklas Bendtner's father and agent, Thomas, claims his son is attracting interest from 'all the big leagues'.

Doesn't say who in the big leagues, I'm sure QPR are very interested in him.

SSN - Arsenal open talks with Oxlade-Chamberlain. Great, will help our defence no end! :banghead:

That was my thought. There's a lot of small clubs in the big leagues. I do love the guy.
"I'm the best player in the world, my daddy said so and he says all the big clubs want me to play for them"

SIGN PLAYERS!! no, not those ones, they are shit!!!

Its july the 1st! Do you not think we may already be in negotiations / talks with potential defenders? Wenger himself has said we need improving there, and that is rare for him to come out and say things like that. Plus this fella might keep Walcott out of the team..win win!

Calm down, lets see how the summer plays out. Or do you just like moaning?

In response to the fear of Denilson staying (don’t remember who said that), don’t you realise that the media is reporting exactly the opposite of what the fans want (or the media think they want)? Most fans want Cesc and Nasri to stay, while Clichy also has a large group of followers, and for those players a “newâ€

His answer.......

Gazidis: we collectively have to judge how much it makes sense to invest in each player at each point in their career at the club.

How the fuck can it make any sense to let contracts run down on your higher profile and often 'top' players?
The guy is on £1.5m a year. He was brought in to negotiate commercial contracts, including player sales and contracts.

WE'VE GOT AS MUCH DEAD WOOD IN THE SALES TEAM AS IN THE SQUAD.

ARSENAL IS A MASSIVE GRAVY TRAIN.

I'M SO FUCKED OFF WITH THIS.
You base your argument on the worst-case assertion that Arsene/Arsenal have lots cash and won’t spend it. So, please help me understand: exactly (or even a good guesstimate) how much cash does Arsene/Arsenal have to spend? and what’s your source for your answer?

piresistable and demun on at the same time, get the fuck in :banghead:

If you actually believe wenger will sufficiently strengthen our squad with the players we need you've learnt nothing from the last 5 years. If we sign ONE decent player that is currently in his prime then I'll be gobsmacked.

Yeah cos it's not like he's ever said he will address the weaknesses and done fuck all about it before is it!!

I make my own decisions based on what I believe to be the truth and what I see on the pitch. If you want to let the press influence every single thought in your mind, good for you, I personally prefer to make up my own mind

don't you dare make that assumption you brainwashed AKB. If anyone here needs to stop believing everything he's told its you. If arsene said that he's going to get the chequebook out this summer you'd cum out your nostrils and head straight over to goal.com to see what highly rated 15 year old it is  .
honestly that must have been the most ironic post I've ever read on here

You get used to it mate, most are actually ok, (although im sure Sid would still moan if he won the lottery that the cheque would take 3 days to clear, and blame it on Wenger  ).

We have this every pre-season, if you believed what you read on here we would have been 7th or 8th for the past 6 years.
