I would just love it!! if HE beats THEM
I think we have a really good chance of going 6 or even 8 points clear this weekend,
Arsenal should beat Birmingham! and Man USA have Newcastle despite Newcastle current bad form I think they will be well up for this! having not played for well over a week they will be fresh and raring to go! anyone else share my optimism?

WHY 'SHOULD' WE BEAT BIRMINGHAM? JUST BECAUSE WE'RE THE BETTER TEAM? WELL, AS YOU KNOW, FOOTBALL DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT AND TO PRESUME IT WILL BE A FORMALITY IS ARROGANT TO SAY THE LEAST.TheOne2Smooth wrote:I think we have a really good chance of going 6 or even 8 points clear this weekend,

WE DIDN'T BEAT THEM AT HOME; HAVE JUST PLAYED TWO TOUGH GAMES, THE LAST OF WHICH WAS ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, WHILE THEY HAVE BEEN RESTING; WE STILL HAVE INJURIES AND WILL BE FACED WITH A HOSTILE CROWD AND A TEAM DESPARATE FOR POINTS THEMSELVES. WHAT PART OF THAT ADDS UP TO 'SHOULD BEAT BIRMINGHAM'?
MAKE NO MISTAKE, THEY WILL BE READY FOR THE BATTLE AND WILL MORE THAN LIKELY TRY AND REPLICATE THE 'IN YOUR FACE' TACTICS THAT OTHERS TRY AGAINST US. IF, LIKE AT BORO, OLD TRAFFORD AND WHL, WE'RE NOT UP FOR IT, IT COULD WELL TURN OUT TO BE A LONG AND DISAPPOINTING AFTERNOON.

NOW HOPEFULLY WE WILL PLAY TO OUR ABILITIES AND HAVE A COMFORTABLE VICTORY. FAILING THAT, I DON'T EVEN MIND IF WE SCRAPE THE 3 POINTS. BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE, YOU SHOULDN'T BE TAKING MATCHES LIKE THIS FOR GRANTED.

NO, JUST A CAUTIOUS ONE. I DON'T LIKE OR MAKE PREDICTIONS AND PREFER WE DON'T TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED AND TREAT EACH OPPONENT WITH RESPECT.TheOne2Smooth wrote: IHH your in danager of being a doom and gloomer gooner!.
BUT SMOOTHIE, THAT'S PRIMARILY BASED ON ONE-EYED LOYALTY AND NOT THE FACTS. PART OF YOUR ARGUMENT FOR THINKING NEWCASTLE MIGHT GET A RESULT AGAINST MAN UNITED WAS THE FACT THAT THEY HAD RESTED WHILST MAN UTD HAD PLAYED. THE SAME THING APPLIES WHEN IT COMES TO BIRMINGHAM AND US. THEREFORE, IT SEEMS LIKE A DOUBLE STANDARD BASED ON SUBJECTIVITY.TheOne2Smooth wrote:.I think Arsenal will win!
if we dont then I'll be shocked, if Arsenal play the way they did last night 4-0 all day long

THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THAT DURING THE SUMMER I WAS ONE OF THE ORIGINAL DOOM AND GLOOM MEMBERS - ALTHOUGH I PREFERRED TO CALL US 'THE REALISTS'. LIKE MOST GOONERS, I HAVE BEEN PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY OUR PROGRESS SO HAVE SUBSEQUENTLY ADAPTED MY ATTITUDE - WHICH IS WHERE I DIFFERENTIATE FROM THE OTHER CONSTANT WORRIERS LIKE AUGIE, REBEL AND GUS.flash gunner wrote:Welcome to Augies doom and gloom club IHH we always welcome new members![]()

There shouldnt be the lack of desire from the players in the brum game or any other Premier League game as it was during the FA cup and Carling Cup matches. If we are focused, at the same time relaxed, we will win on saturday. An early goal will help and Flamini and co will have to keep the intensity high right from the whistle.
I have no hope for Newcastle against Manure, even though Keegan was bragging about his decent record against red nose.
