Transfer Rumours Thread
Yeah its the injuries that worry me. He's got all the skills to be a very good player but he never gets the run in the side he needs to push him on. I've never thought Traore was that bad either tbh.
I'ld still like us to sign someone in that position though. Enrique would be a great option as I think Baines would be very expensive

Agreed, but the stubbon one won't buy as he would see 2 players already 'capable'.rigsby wrote:Yeah its the injuries that worry me. He's got all the skills to be a very good player but he never gets the run in the side he needs to push him on. I've never thought Traore was that bad either tbh.

Just read that Chelsea are being linked with Pepe from Real Madrid who only has a year left on his contract. Surely it would be worth us looking into signing him as well, with an expiring contract he might fall into our price range & is reportedly looking for 90 grand a week which could fit into our structure. It would be nice if for once we could fleece someone else on an expiring contract instead of being the ones getting fleeced.

Played FIFA 11 the other night on be a manager mode which I haven't done for months (minaly due to my online membership having ran out) and it turns out I'd bought Aly Cissoko and Gervinho
This was before any rumours had started. Is this an omen?!
Probably not because I also noticed i'd got Cambiasso, Pique and Reina

I know it is more wishful thinking than anything else but if madrid were to buy tevez (and they are the favourites to do so at the mo) then perhaps the likes of higuain or benzema (more likely) would be available ?
I know our priorities lie elsewhere at the mo but if we are lucky enough to rid the club of the danish *word censored* then we will need another striker and if either of these were available could we really pass up the chance to buy them ? Personally I believe that as things stand it is not enough for wenger to sign players that are good enough cos he also needs to sign players that are high profile with it - yes talent and attitude are the most important factors but we need to sign big players to send out a message to our players, to any potential signings, to our rivals, to the fans and to our sponsors that we are not a selling club on the decline but that we are an ambitious club intent on winning the biggest trophies

Start with something easier augie, like world peace.

I like that last bit, a nice rallying speech.
We do need that 1 big signing that we haven't had for years. He doesn't need to be expensive but a name we recognise and that can at least boost morale in the team and make us feel like we are moving forward.
Instead we get Jenkinson (no offense to the lad, it's not his fault he's our only signing so far).
Even Coyle's telling us to hurry up and make a bid for Cahill, just get on with it Wenger! I'd feel a lot better if I got a sense that something was going on but I don't think it is

We've missed out on alvarez.....
It's being reported that we have missed out on Alvarez because we were haggling over 1.7m.

If that's true then I really have had enough of Arsenal's penny pinching. You either want players or you don't, we will not sign anyone if we aren't prepared to pay what might be seen as a fraction over the odds.
