O Shea is going Sunderland i think. Not even he wants to come to the mighty Arsenal hahaGunnersaurus wrote:We will end up with a load of broken down players like Squillaci and Silvestre.
John O Shea as star signing.
We will end up with Upson along with JD, Squilachi and Uspon as subs
Ches
Sagna
Kos
TV
Gibs
BACK 5 NEXT SEASON
We also made a last minute attempt to sign Stekelenburg but left it too late & he's off to Roma for what sounds like a bargain 7m.

I know it will happen.TeeCee wrote:You laugh but I said a while back that I thought we would sign Upson. Wenger is such a penny pinching cu** that you can almost guarantee that's what he'll do.
The back 5 wont change , he will buy stand ins just in case but they wont be better than what we have.
Gibbs as left back as he has already said today on french radio

So this season and next are big seasons for the club and in my opinion this transfer window is massive. Unless we get the finger out and improve we'll win jack sh!t next season and possibly the following one too (if you take into account that players may need a season to settle in) which is presumably when the negotiations for new sponsors will take place. Who will be will to offer a big money sponsorship to a club who have won nothing in years?Boomer wrote:I believe the kit (nike) is next summer. 12/13I Hate Hleb wrote:I think it's Shirt 2014, Stadium 2021 or thereabouts.
Get the fucking cheque book out

So far we lost a first teamer (clichy), while having far bigger priorities (Denilson, Bender, Squillaci, almunia, Rosicky).... And we signed a 19 yo with absolutely no experience.
We've been stumbling on a deal with gervinho for the past month because we could not offer the 3 additional millions Lille are asking for. Meanwhile all our transfer targets are being outpriced by our rivals (which is no hard when you see how skint we are)
Same goes with any eventual Samba or Cahill deal. We're so skint and so slow to act that I don't even know if we're still really into them...

Bad enough not buying players but losing out on players over a couple of million is a disgrace and is happening far too often to be deemed acceptable
Rules are simple.......if you see a player that you believe will improve your team then you go and buy him. If it costs a few million over what you intended spending then so be it cos if you see enough in the player to think he will improve your team then not getting him (and worse still losing him to another club) means your team cannot get better and will be left further behind
Somebody, be it wenger or ivan, should be held accountable for the shambolic way we are conducting ourselves in the transfer windows and these fan protests cant happen soon enough for me

Really annoyed about this if it's true. Stekelenburg is a quality goalkeeper with a good 7 or 8 seasons at the top level left in him. He would have been a great signing and £7m is a bargain.fadidaeus wrote:We also made a last minute attempt to sign Stekelenburg but left it too late & he's off to Roma for what sounds like a bargain 7m.

There's no doubt in my mind he would have come to us over Roma but he's obviously principled because he won't break the verbal agreement with them.
Typical of Arsenal - we don't have a clue who we want to sign really. I bet Wenger just sits there and someone mentions Stekelenburg in the paper and Wenger goes oh yeah, I remember him! Lets bid! Too fucking late!!! I just don't get what's taking so long

I had a sleep shit the other night.
Woke up on Sunday morning with the wife asking me why I had taken a dump in the bath.
Couldn't remember doing it but I was pretty well boozed up.

Blame it on the kids!
Or Denilshit.

I love the way people chose to believe what they want to believe in the press. Lets be honest 95% of Rumours and accusations printed in these papers are absolute bullshit.
Its so great how the press can report that Arsenal are missing out on a player by £1m when they have not 1 bit of evidence, then our own fans start slagging our own manager off because of a accusation that nobody knows is true or not. If Arsenal came out and stated that they missed out on a player because they were not willing to spend an extra £1m on a player then i would have the hump.
I stop buying newspapers during pre-season, no football to write about so they torment the life out of any story possible at the time, and ex-pros, shitty ginger wanker ones include are all jumping on the Arsenal is a sinking ship bandwagon, then they print storys to match up with what people think and it sells papers, simple.
At the end of the day Im fairly sure Wenger has his targets and im pretty sure he will get them. We have just over a week until our Tour of Asia begins and i would feel very disappointed if we hadnt bought by then.
Until then im just laughing at the bollocks being printed, and laughing at the vile hatred of our own manager from our own fans.

Your blind optimism is a never ending joy AFC, but you fail to address the fact that we have proven to have missed out on recent targets precisely because we have not coughed up a relatively small extra amount. Alonso, Schwarzer and Reina are three that have been independently verified by people closely involved as being the case - so why is it now so far-fetched to believe that the same thing is going on with these players?AFCWozza wrote:I love the way people chose to believe what they want to believe in the press. You consistently ignore the evidence in front of you - one of the reasons that we are in the shit that we are in right now with a sub-standard squad on the verge pf losing it's best players or at the very least in Clichy's case, someone who undoubtedly gave his all on the pitch.
The unquestioning faith in Wenger has left us with a squad half full of wasters, with no character, and little fight for the battle - who are overpaid for their status.
And you would feel pretty disappointed if we hadn't bought by the Asian tour - God, sit down man!

The evidence of previous seasons suggest that Wenger is once again trying to do things on the cheap in terms of quality.
