As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Average at best and should be replaced in the first team by better. I dont think thats bashing as such Song is a squad player and would be a very good one

Agreed. But someone on here said he is our worst ever DM or something along those lines, I mean really?

No, not really. But that's really only one "bashing". The others are just criticial - You know, he's improved but is he top quality - probably not, and never will be.

To clarify what I said, i argued that he is by far the worst tackler ever to play the defensive midfield position and I 100% stand by that belief. His inability to tackle properly is absolutely embarassing and isnt even at hackney marshes level
Song's a good player, but he doesn't "hold" well enough for a "holding midfielder" at a top-tier EPL team level, and he's not creative enough to play in the centre (ala Cesc).
Not faulting the guy, just speaking what I think is true.

Didn't want to start a new thread on Song, but have you seen the clip on SSN of the team arriving in malaysia. Song walks off coach headphones on, cap over his eyes, totally ignoring the welcoming committee, dignitaries who are paying for us to be there. What a complete wanker! The guy needs to learn a harsh lesson that he is representing The Arsenal, clearly doesn'y know what that means
89, nothing against the lad himself but look at him from the rest of the prem teams view. Cant imagine that many teams would think.."Bloody hell we are up against Song at the weekend, nightmare"
As a pretend top team we are too lightweight where it really matters pal.
Hence our decline since the Patrick/Manu partnership.
But if you are positive chap keep at it.
Good on ya.

As Roy Walker would say, 'say what you see'
Wenger had Song playing the advanced role and Jack the holding player most of the time.
History will show Song as an unintelligent, unimaginative, clumsy footballer who got lucky by being the best of a bad bunch while Wenger's little project was in full flow.
