Usmanov creeping up to the 30% threshold
If Usmanov reaches 30% then he has full access to the clubs accounts, not just doodles from Gazidis and Kroenke. I'm sure there is plenty he doesn't know about the financial dealings of the club, hence the current board don't want him at their table! It will be excellent if he gets to see the accounts as it could make for an uncomfortable time for the board.
Under UK law I believe Usmanov would still have to make an offer for all shares if he hit 30%, even though Kroenke did it recently. Of course it's unlikely that Kroenke would sell, but it would be very interesting if Usmanov offered 15k a share! Kroenke may well be tempted to make a 50% profit in a few months.

I agree there is much he is not privy - I am just not so sure that the books themselves bring it to light uless they are more than raw numbers and by that I mean they include notations form Board meeting and the like. Acounts show you how much money you have and maybe even why,but not in every instance. I think its best to say they accounts may tell what we spent and how but necessarily why. What they may well do is give Mr. Umsanov the means to raise the questions that should have been raised long ago reallyTeeCee wrote:If Usmanov reaches 30% then he has full access to the clubs accounts, not just doodles from Gazidis and Kroenke. As to specifics I think of two immediately. As i duscussed earlier what those unspecified expenses of about 50 million GBP actually were for. The other and I must say I am a bit embarassed that this did not occur immedaitelty is an official breakdown of the club's wages and the the club's actual wage structure.
I may well have missed something else given that I missed that earlier

I have to say that while I am not a huge Stan Kroenke fan, and am genuinely concerned that selling to him was mistake based onm what we know about his personnal wealth and his silence when asked to guarantee he would not finance his takeover with dividend leverage(as opposed to debt leverage) which he can do right now with a simple up-or-down Board vote.TeeCee wrote:Under UK law I believe Usmanov would still have to make an offer for all shares if he hit 30%, even though Kroenke did it recently. But I will note that historically Stan Kroenke has never sold a share in any of his sports clubs in America by all available accounts yet Does that mean he would not now? No - but if in fact he would now he will do so much soone if only because it would save his investing further in any pronjects in his synergic business model around Arsenal.
Beyond that is the matter of why he would sell. The notion that this was his plan all along seems utterly inconsistent with his business history in America. My semse is that if he were to sell it would only be if evidence was to turn up the Arsenal Board did in fact not act in the club's betst interests specifically in sellling to him. While some maybe even many Gooners no doubt would find some way to forgive the Board for those actions, there is little doubt that anti-Kroenke sentiment would be all but unanimous - unless he quite lterally smashed and shattered the bank and immediately so.
I think it's very possible that could happen then. I guess one thing that Mr. Kroenke has over Mr. Wenger is he might just have a Plan B.
I wasn't suggesting that you would dread that day, but that the population of Hartford would.USMartin wrote:Why would I dread that day. I could imagine that Hartford, CT, USA is dreading that day though!
If Usmanov sees the books and then does a wikileaks on The Arsenal - if there is anything dodgy to report - then surely the revelations of the 'proof' that everyone wants would see a bit of a party in Hartford, and the carnage after that expose would live in the memory of the people of Hartford for a long time.
If of course there's nothing to see then the subsequent reaction would also be a bit scary, I would imagine.
Yiou don't know Hartford too well mateBabu wrote:I wasn't suggesting that you would dread that day, but that the population of Hartford would.USMartin wrote:Why would I dread that day. You may not know Hartford but you have summed it up perfectly in that first sentenceBabu wrote:I don't, sadly. I have worked in Boston and NYC, and so have driven past Hartford a few times, but never stopped.USMartin wrote:

Did I miss much then? Will really have to check it out some day.

Actually its not a bad city at all. Not a great city either. There just ain't that much to it
Yeah, I found this map of it, which sums it up, I'm imagining.USMartin wrote:You may not know Hartford but you have summed it up perfectly in that first sentenceBabu wrote:I don't, sadly. The arrow says 'USELESS'.

what's sad is the map appears more and more accurate on a daily basis
It's mid-blowing how far backward America has slid and how quickly we have really domestically (our foreign policy has basically be fucked since after - and before - World War Two really. I think we did the right things from 1942-1942. Well up until August of 45. Should have kept clear of that crap.
Ooooh, I think it's pointing to the whole of the region painted in black there.USMartin wrote:No offense but the arrow looks to be pointing at New Jersey though the term useless wporks as well there as up here![]()
That black area goes from New Jersey to Rhode Island.
EDIT: No, sorry, I was wrong. Just zoomed in on the black area, and looks like it is only New Jersey, but I thought that the black line under the New England 'the British' area belonged to that bit as well.
But I have to say I always thought of Rhode Island as useless, so maybe the black line is NJ and 'you lot'.
Again you have summed things up brilliantly without realizing it. You sir have a giftBabu wrote:Ooooh, I think it's pointing to the whole of the region painted in black there.USMartin wrote:No offense but the arrow looks to be pointing at New Jersey though the term useless wporks as well there as up here![]()
