Alex Song going to prison?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Song walks off coach headphones on, cap over his eyes, totally ignoring the welcoming committee, dignitaries who are paying for us to be there. What a complete wanker! The guy needs to learn a harsh lesson that he is representing The Arsenal, clearly doesn'y know what that means
Totally agree mate but the bit I've highlighted - that should be "clearly doesn't care what that means".

A couple of years ago Steve Goodwin wrote a Match Review in the Gooner magazine (Villa Away, Boxing Day) as Steve's daughter was our matchday mascot. Steve wrote then about the state of the players, strolling off the coach with their trouser legs rolled up, baseball caps on and huge headphones on, avoiding any contact with fans - more like a pub team than The Arsenal first team.

Younger fans may not think it's important but this goes a long way towards the half-arsed performances we see from players like Song, Denilson, Eboue, Diaby etc. They're far too comfortable, far too removed from reality & no-one at the Club seems to give a toss. And what makes it worse is they're not even that f**king good!!

My son is 3 years old now - if any player like Song strolls past and ignores him when I start taking him to matches I'll plant my fist right in his stupid face. These players should realise the privileged position they're in!

I've said for ages they need to get back into the Arsenal suits. Its representing the club off the pitch as well a son. Look how good United look when they're all suited up in them. Even Spurs have started it.

I know a dress code might appear ridiuclous but for me its what I want our players to be wearing.

Got to agree with the comments above about our non-existent dress code within the club... the players now look what they are, a bunch of greedy, non-caring bunch of wankers, the sooner a new broom comes in to sweep clean, the better, imo.

I can only echo previous statements about the embarrassing demeanour and dress code our club now tolerates. Say what you want about Fergie but his United players are always well turned out in their club suits when they're on tour or turning up to a final.

While I totally agree with the comments about the lack of proper club appearance by the players nowadays, can we just keep this thread on song doing porridge so with that in mind has the *word censored* been sent down yet ?

worthing gooner wrote:89, nothing against the lad himself but look at him from the rest of the prem teams view. Cant imagine that many teams would think.."Bloody hell we are up against Song at the weekend, nightmare"
As a pretend top team we are too lightweight where it really matters pal.
Hence our decline since the Patrick/Manu partnership.
But if you are positive chap keep at it.
Good on ya.
You mustn't know me too well, I'm far from a positive chap mate!

Just trying to be sensible re Song, I think he's a decent player. Not quite what we need ie world class but decent enough to be a squad member at Arsenal. We've had far worse.
