usual thread starter – I remember Milan beating Celtic in the knockouts last season. Similar scoreline in the first leg. Second leg in Italy, 0-0 after 90 mins. Then 1-0 in extra time thanks to Kaka. Arsenal are better away if Europe than Celtic though, which means we can expect similar caution. Milan will be willing to go all the way to pens to make sure they do not concede a precious away goal. Don’t expect the second leg to be that much different from the first.

Or do you think Milan will come out more on their own turf?

I thought it was a great performance by the team, as a whole, although I was frustrated by Adebayor, as he had no first touch to speak of. If he had been on top form we could have won at least 2-0.

I initially thought that Eboue had embarrased us again, but on the Arsenal TV phone in after the game, the studio and a few callers were convinced it should've been a pen. I'm still not sure.

Even Swiss played a blinder and I can't recall him making a single howler.

Sagna is a total class act. His signing is pure Wenger, akin to when we signed Gilberto in the same season Liverpool splashed out 10M on Diouf.

There is every reason to be confident for the 2nd leg.

I think you're being incredibly unfair to Ade! His first touch, usually when surrounded by two or three defenders was excellent. The only down side was his timing of his runs.
I didn't see the Eboue incident clearly so can't comment but if you get the rep then you have to live with the consequences. We've seen it with the Portugese ladyboy at Manure. He's missed out on a few pens because of his rep.

Arsenal to win 3-1, NU/MU draw. surely NU have to raise their game under keegan eventually. What better chance after 2 weeks off.

I would not have called it predictable because there was a time in that game I thought we could have slide 3 goals past them. But I am not surprised that the cam with the tactical formation of a better Bolton Wanderers. The fact also is that you have to play twice as good as the Italians to beat them, we did yet we still do not have an advantage coming into the San Siro. But we can not complain about not beating them. We drew against the best team in Europe.

But it is still all to play for. We are good away and remember the San Siro a few years ago? Also Real Madrid were never beaten by a British team at home in this phase a few years ago, then we changed that, I hope we can change this. Another point is that because of their defensive formation in Ashburton there was no gaps. In Milan there will be gaps. In Milan we need to take our chance that is what will keep us in if we take them.
