Paul Gascoigne has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act after being arrested in Newcastle on Wednesday.

The former England star has endured numerous emotional problems since his retirement from the game.

He has battled against alcohol-related and drug problems for years as he struggled to come to terms with life without football.

The latest incident occurred at hotel in Gateshead on Wednesday evening when Northumbria police responded to a concerned call.

told you not to leave him alone in that hotel!

Anyway he had emotional problems when he played football - some of those tackles and playing for the scum.

Not too surprised about his internment. He always was a total nut-job.

Credit where credits due though...

I know he is ex Spurs but he has serious problems with the booze.
Did anyone ever see that documentary when he was in China playing for a team in a polluted city?

It was uncomfortable to watch.

Just shows money cannot always give you contentment.

sad all the same though ! He WAS a great player.

Should never have left his native Newcastle and that's a fact.

The Times report on this however, made me laugh. It said "G has always had emotional instability" and then two lines later mentioned he played for the Spuds :P

The close proximity of the two statements made me laugh. When it's really no laughing matter.

I saw that documentary. His own father and that crunt, Jimmy half a million bellies, came across as the two biggest parasites I've ever seen   . I hated Gazza up til that documentary, but actually felt a little sorry for the crunt after that. He obviously has the obsessive, addictive self destruct gene in abundance and is addicted to aldohol.

But y'know, f*ck him; he is a spud and his flukey 25 yard, miss kicked, free kick robbed us of a double in 91...

i hope he gets the help he needs. when i hear him talk my heart breaks for him, he has so many demons. irrespective of who he played for, he was utterly fantastic and i wish him all the best.
