If there are any remaining lunatics in the asylum of Wengerworship, who still believe after 4 consecutive Summers of downright lies and disappointment....that this will be THE year when he sorts out the defence....please read on.
All this bullshit about Cahill for 17m and Samba for 10m remains exactly that. The dumbing down of the defence has already started - Gibbs for Clichy is not progress in any shape or form despite what some might claim, and we are now starting to get the picture about TV5 being like our "new signing" etc etc. And Jenkinson and Traore provide us with all the cover we'd ever need anyway eh ?
Still this all means good news for any of you out there who want to use my 2 Silver memberships this year. I certainly won't be setting foot inside the Theatre of Lies this year, and likely any other year whilst Gazidis & Wenger play puppets-on-a-string to the current main shareholder.
Arsène Wenger insists Arsenal are not defensively weak but admits his side do need to tighten up on set-pieces this season.
A number of defenders have been linked with a move to Emirates Stadium this summer but Carl Jenkinson is the only addition to Wenger’s squad so far.
The Frenchman believes the players he has at his disposal have enough quality but he appreciates that improvements need to be made.

Ive just read this to. I really thought (i must be fucking stupid) that all the talk of a busy summer in the transfer market was really gonna happen after the pathetic end of season and the club hearing our unhappy we are. But no, more bollocks, get their money and then jackshit.
He must be fucking deluded if he thinks that defence doesn't need changing.

Like we dint see this coming. Vermaelen is like a new signing, Squillaci will stay, Frimpong will be the defensive midfielder we have been crying for e.t.c.
I have gone passed being sad or laughing at the situation, acceptance is the key now.
Arsene can do whatever the hell he likes but come January and team still performs the same, then the tide will finally turn full circle and the patience would have dried up.

It was only a matter of time before he started this shite again, he is a *word censored*.
I also found the timing of his recent attacks on Citeh's stadium sponsorship and a Barca players lack of respect very interesting. An attempt to distract from his lack of activity in the transfer market, whilst getting himself on the backpages "fighting for what is right" to the delight of his faithful followers.
The man is a spin merchant and the sad thing is, too many still fall for everyword, from the end of season "we will make changes" to the current, we are fine as we are.
It will however end with the rolling of his head, and I for one will drink champagne and eat caviar, in celebration.

When I was young I was told that cursing wasnt using swear words but was about wiishing bad on other people........believe me I am well past that point with wenger
How the *word censored* running our club continue to allow this *word censored* free reign and without checking him on his performance and public utterings is beyond me
If kroenke doesnt get proactive with this prick shortly then I hope his wallmart empire crashes around him so that he too will fcuk off out of our club

So its confirmed then, no trophies for us this coming season.
The equation is quite simple in my eyes, if you cannot match of or concede less than utd/chelsea city you certaintly wont win the league and at best finish 4th, and we have to remember liverpool are almost certain to concede less goals than us.
So where in wenger experience did he decide that conceding goals is not important. Does he realise that we can have great difficulty breaking teams down, because we have poor finishers in this team, midfield or strikers. Does he realise how easy it is for a team to defend in numbers hit us on the break and score in a far far more efficient way.
Whats the point of coaching technical players only to concede goals which require no skill.
"not sure if you've been paying attention to current events, but we just got our arses kicked!!!"

Reminds me of something I read after the CC Final; "When the final whistle went Arsenal had one beautiful goal. Birmingham had two ugly ones, and a trophy." How true...Supagoon wrote:Whats the point of coaching technical players only to concede goals which require no skill.

How come we can see all this yet the people whose very financial wealth it would appear hinges on seeing this don't?
When are we going to learn that only when the people who run and or own the club are made to feel some pressure will anyone feel any pressure?
Our only hope now is that Usmanov reaches 30% because then - maybe - he might pressure the club to address these matters - and even then I'm not confident of him doing so.
The money men have won or certainly are winning, and now that is all we are about. We let them win or are letting them win, because apparently that is easier than any alternative that we have considered.
I thought it was supposed to be all-change now under our completely new Board and ownership, instaed now it sounds like no change at all. I'm sorry but how long are we going to pretend the multi-millionaires and now billionaires that have run this club since 2005 aren't selectively competent in their business dealings and that only when they are pressed on them might there be some real change? So long as we insist we have no right to question anything until we are 100% certain of everything what more can we seriously expect from our Club? We give them no incentive whatsoever to do anything differently after all.

Am I upset? Yes. "Not defensively weak" is simply ignorant, and "need to concede less from set pieces" is painstakingly obvious - it's been the case for multiple years now.
However, I will not complain until the transfer window is over, to save possibly eating my words.
Cahill, Samba, and Mertesacker are all still in play, and I continue to hope for the best. If we don't sign a proper leftback however, God help us... I like Gibbsy but he's going to get injured in about 10 minutes with those chocolate metatarsals of his.

You can't keep reading so far into everything Wenger says. He's never going to sit and slate any of the team - you know that 100% already. I don't know what people are looking for!!
Arsenal have always been notoriously quiet about who they are signing/attempting to sign. I think too many people are interested in and riled up by who we are "linked" with. Most it's just shit to fill the coloumns in the papers and online. It's not even just Arsenal, all fans set themselves up to be let down if you read that utter utter shit.
