I hope you aren’t suggesting that if the Board in fact did willfully mis-lead us on these things for the reasons the facts suggest they might have that you have no problem with thatbiglunn wrote:I would have more respect for him if he just turned round and said that we havent got any money, we havent got any ambition further than getting 4th, and to publically say that he loves his £7m year while laughing at us paying 6% more for the privelige
Apparently we're "not defensively weak"
It's this simple where is your definite proff to borrow the standard Quartz would require the question the Board and its conduct that eitherbiglunn wrote: He does everything.... I mean EVERYTHING to deflect critisism of Wenger to 'The Board', much like Wenger himself, who does his best to deflect from the real issues of the current squad.
A) the Board has offered significantly more money to the manager to strengthen the teeam that he has turned down
B) the Board would off significantly more money to any otther manager
Unless you have definite proof to support these contentions apparently you have no right to make them according to Quartz (or is your standard in fact a double-standard that only applies to questions you don't wish to ask?)
I'm sorry but it seems to me that many supporters would rather believe as was suggested recently that Arsene Wenger was engaged in deliberately sabotaging the team and club, simply to ignore the possibility if not probability that the Board had put its own personal interests ahead of the club's
I have and will again list all the facts in support of that possibility. The irony is none of you are able or willing to present any such facts because frankly there are far fewer such facts and many of them often do not pass objective standards by which things can be determined to be facts.
This is exactly why the truth matters, because these issues are so important, so emotional to us that they stir such intense feelings. How would you feel if your child hit someone at school and said they did because the other kid did something your child knew they did not actually do or probably did not do?. My guess s you would be deeply disappointed in them for that reason alone and work hard to explain how wrong that specific behavior was because you don't do that certainly without genuine reason.biglunn wrote: When I read that Wenger believes the team is 'not defensively weak' I nearly threw my laptop out of the window. marty asking for proof
how about you stop hijacking threads and going off on one until there is substantial proof that the board are keeping money back? I believe this might be possible but I won't believe it until you give proof . wenger claims keeping nasri is like spending 20m, right?
these are the words of a tight, penny pinching cocktard if ever I heard it. this thread is about OUR DEFENCE so just give it a rest- please!!

These legends knew how to defend.
I know Steve Bould is on the coaching staff for reserves/youths but really think one of the others should be back at the club coaching defence.
2005 - 2006
Martin Keown defensive coach
10 consecutive Champions League games without conceding a goal..
Speaks for itself.

Oh asking honest questions that should have been asked long ago is hijacking as opposed to succh carefully cosidered and though out object analysis as
As yes this logical serious discussion of these improtant issues.
I get it - this hurts and it hurts every single one of us but deliberately choosing to ignore the real problem or two to deliberaetly blame someone without genuine justification will not make it better. It simply will not. All it will do is poison the good times for you because they will remind you of the bad times then, and then you won't even be able to enjoy those as much as you once did still could and still should.
We can't just give in to raw emotions alone here, because that solves nothing.. Even if you insist on believing this is solely down to the manger if you refuse to make it cklear to the Board that persisting with him will call their conduct into question what do you expect them to do? If you don't question wht they are doing and why then they are accountable to no one but themsleves and their personal interests, whatever you believe they ultimately need to do.

I also found the timing of his recent attacks on Citeh's stadium sponsorship and a Barca players lack of respect very interesting. An attempt to distract from his lack of activity in the transfer market, whilst getting himself on the backpages "fighting for what is right" to the delight of his faithful followers.
The man is a spin merchant and the sad thing is, too many still fall for everyword, from the end of season "we will make changes" to the current, we are fine as we are.
It will however end with the rolling of his head, and I for one will drink champagne and eat caviar, in celebration.

Also the players in that defence and in goal speak for themselvesQuartzGooner wrote:These legends knew how to defend.

Pretending a new defensive coach is the only issue is just that pretending.
Who was the defensive coach from 2002-2005? Oh that's right we had real quality we invested in through our defence and in ffront of that defence as well. Under the same manager and same number two and the same first-team coach.
We may need a defensive coach now but pretending that has nothing to do with lack of investment in defence and defensive mid-ffeld is just that - pretending. Unless you want to argue that Keown can turn the current defence into one as good as the Invincibles had at the back and in front of the back four - or behind it for that matter.
