best role for Theo
today i'm reading everywhere that he claims an attacking central position

what your thinking about?
for me isnt a good idea, he's still lightweight and too much small to have a good powering precence in the opposite area

Agreed, play RVP just behind him in a 4-4-2, he'll outpace most defenders over 10-15 yards plus his finishing has improved.Eboue-Why? wrote:For the 5367th time on this site, play him down the middle with a No.10 threading balls through or get ride of him to a club who will play him in that position and then come back to haunt us

I like Theo and think he can make an impact on any game. Any frustrations with him are compounded as he is being played out of position.
I also think he will make an effective 20+ goals a year striker.
Shit sorry, wrong thread

Not really sure if this boy is "the man" ?
Away at Ipswich last season, after about 10-15 minutes he knocked the ball past thier left back Darren o'dea and he got brought down. O'Dea got a yellow and what did Walcott do all game after that?
Very Very little, NOT once did he knock the ball past him again only the same old same old sprint, stop, cut inside & pass.
When he DOES knock that ball on he shows some class but more often than not the Full back lays off him & watches him do very little
PLAY HIM THROUGH THE MIDDLE!!!
give him a "last chance saloon" season

And yet we have many Gooners who believe he is a centre forward

To me it is another PV4/diaby situation where in that case they look physically similar whilst in this case theo has lightening speed like henry did but that is where the similarities end my friends so stop dreaming about theo being a centre forward cos he doesnt have the bottle, the natural strikers instinct or the intelligence to play that position

Do not think right wing is his best position.
Would like to see him more central but as a striker paired with RvP, not with RvP playing the Number 10 role because that does not suit RvP.
To me Theo is best when he can collect the ball to feet, run at top speed away from the defence and shoot, all in short order. The longer he has on the ball the less effective he is.
If by any chance Nasri stays and Theo is not chosen up front, would prefer Nasri wide right and try Theo wide left where he was good for England Under-21's.
