As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
augie wrote:The fcuking headline doesnt really match up with the story though does it ? I mean the substance of the story says that we are willing to negotiate but that dont mean that we have agreed to sell now does it ? As far as I was concerned we have been negotiating all along.......they bid 27m and we say 45m and so on so in effect nothing has really changed imo
have to agree with augie. its the same now as it was end of season, and no one can tell me that the two clubs have not been talking since then trying to work out a fee.
What do you mean have to agree with augie ? You make it sound like a chore......why cant you just say that augie is correct again ?
With this latest Cesc thing, and Mancini claiming that Nasri will be a Man City player by the end of July, where did Wenger get the idea that both players would still be at Arsenal next season?
I know Fabregas is a good player, but he obviously doesn't want to be at Arsenal,so I say get rid before he disrupts the dressing room anymore.Besides he is tending to pick up more injuries lately.
Same goes for Nasri.

Why should we sell him because the press and Barcelona wont shut up about it? Its not our problem. In fact we've done bloody well in our stance over this.

mancini just said he'ld like Nasri.
You have probably aired your views on the nasri situation before now mate (but I am too old to remember them ) but do you think the club should sell nasri now ? The cesc situation I agree with you on and said the same things about pep's quotes on the previous page but for me nasri's situation is a different ball game entirely

It is in the best interests of the club to deal on August 31st, that way there will no time to sign a replacement and we'll have to wait until the Jan Window.
I must say I am quite calm and relaxed about his departure, he clearly wants to go and the injuries are a factor, I think Talkspite said this morning he played less than 40% of our games last season. He missed the final after pulling a hamstring in a nothing game against Stoke FFS!
I tend to agree with comments from Cruyff earlier in the week on the lines of Barca should put up or shut up. They are showing themselves to be as weak and indecisive as Arsenal in the way they are handling this.
And from our point of view I think we should just say come back when you can prove you have the £40m that starts the bidding. Until that point there should be nothing to discuss.
As for Nasri I'm still not so sure. United won the league by holding on to Ronaldo when he wanted to go. And they were held to ransom by Rooney in a much bigger way than Nasri is doing now - and yet club, Manager and player now seem to be happy....and they won the league - again!
If we let players leave just because they say they're not 100% happy then that would probably be everyone except Bendy and Eboue gone before the season even starts.....
