This shit really busts my hump. Same with Alex Ox, same with Cahill. Who does Wenger think he is dictating what he believes is the price a player is worth. A players worth what somones willing to pay and if you are desperate you have to pay the fucking price.

and then to have the bare faced cheek to take the moral high ground over Cesc when Barca are doing exactly whats hes doing to everyone else.

Isnt it ironic when you see our club digging in our heels for 40m when it comes to selling cesc yet continue to under bid when it comes to potential transfer signings ?
For me it is another of wenger's contradictions cos he slates the chavs and citteh for the imbalance of finances and the inability to compete yet he thinks it is totally ok cherry pick talent from clubs that are smaller than ours - finances have always played a huge part of football and the wealthy clubs have always pissed on the rest and the chavs and citeeh are now the rich clubs and he dont like it

I'ld like to think we would have someone who would just tell Wenger to give him the names and then he goes out to negotiate the deal. Involve Wenger at some level, but never have a manager involved in naming a price straight up. The Scwarzer thing last year was embarassing and a prime example of what is wrong with Wenger atm.
We had one of those. His name was David Dein.

For all his faults, and there are a few, it should be crystal clear to anyone now that he was the driving force behind us signing World Class players, and Wenger has to go...NOW.

OR...DD has to come back, or someone similar, who is Arsenal through and through!

Wenger is just a fuckwit.

I know it might be clutching at straws, but the recent comments by Gazidis and others that money is there to be spent and needs to be spent, might be part of a concerted effort to put pressure on Wenger, distance the board (sorry, US alert) from Wenger's actions and perhaps, just perhaps, give Wenger the untimatum, spend or cheerio. As I say, probably just wishful thinking but could this be a sign that patience from above Wenger is running out or that they are giving him enough rope to hang himself? They know the punters aren't happy, the season ticket renewal rate has been mentioned in the national press and Wenger is under pressure for perhaps the first time in his Arsenal career. I'd like to think that a situation is being prepared where, should we have a shit season, people like Gazidis can turn to him and say 'you had the money and didn't spend it.'

I agree Perry.

Looks as if the club are telling Wenger to shape up.

But I am always wary of reports for how much we have bid etc.

As a club we rarely disclose actual transfer fees and one never knows if a selling club has told the truth.

Arsenal and Spurs Tussle Over 19-Year-Old Asian Wonderkid
Posted on 21 July 2011

Arsenal and Tottenham are reportedly locked in a battle over the signing Nepalese teen sensation Rohit Chand.

The 19-year-old defender currently plays for Indian First Division club Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) SC and is rated one of the finest talents n Asian football.

TalkSPORT claim Chand is desperate to secure a big move to a European club and the fierce London rivals have both registered their interest.

Nepal will be taking on Jordan in a 2014 World Cup qualifier next week and both Arsenal and Spurs will be sending scouts out to watch the centre-half in action.

The national team's current coach, Graham Roberts, who incidentally is a former Spurs captain, believes Chand is destined for big things.

"Rohit is by far the best centre-half I have ever coached," he said. "He is an extreme talent who will play at the highest level."

The Jagielka thing has pissed me off no end. We've bid 2 million less than last year!! And he's signed a ne contract. What is wrong with the man!!

Also I remember Warnock saying he told Wenger to sign Jagielka when Utd went down.

If reports of our interest are true, I want to know why are we considering buying yet another comparatively short centre-half rather than a big dominant fucker like Samba, when one of our main weaknesses is in the air? :? :banghead: :banghead:

Jagielka has a pretty hefty spring on him. He's very good in the air.

doesn't look like we are getting rid of Almunia then, Szczesny has taken the number 13 shirt and Fabianski is still 21. :banghead:

Or a considerably voluminous source of fresh ground water?

Jagielka is 29 next month, it would be complete madness to spend more than 10m on him in my opinion, even though we need a defender! He's not worth anywhere near 20m, especially at 29 yo. Cahill at 17m would be a much ,much better option and Jagielka isn't any better than Cahill.
