I Truly TRULY just DO NOT UNDERSTAND!
It is quite clearly his own vanity and ego and stubbornness, as he wants to prove that his 'project youth' can work.

And credit where it's due, many people did laugh at comical wenger's "I think we can go the season unbeaten" quote, and were proved very wrong.

I think it must also have something to do with the fact that Ferguson did it with his golden generation, even though Hansen famously said "You can't win anything with kids", and now we are stuck with this until his contract ends.

And believe me, if things do not change then there is no way that Kroenke will give Wenger an extension, and both sides can walk away without any loss of face.

What everyone must see though is that Wenger has had substantial amounts of cash available. Even as far back as summer 2007 the Board were telling everyone that would listen that they had £70million for Wenger to spend.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 520179.ece

Looking at the figures that are available now it is also quite clear that we have about £35 million that is available to spend. ( without even mentioning the possibly £80m cash from players that we could/should/ have to sell. ). We have cash of £110m, but £23 million has to be kept as debt service reserves for the stadium financing, which still leaves us with £87million cash, but running costs for the next half of the financial year of £40m , plus outstanding transfer fees still owed of £13m, so still leaves us with about £35million. ( courtesy swiss rambler ).

Also, all the cash from the property sales, as the property business is now debt-free, as PHW stated, so ALL future sales will/should boost our coffers.

Nasri £20m
Cesc £40m
Clichy £7m
Bendy £9m
Diaby £4m
Eboue £3.50
= £ 80,000,003.50

+ £35million

= £115 million pounds.

OK, we would have to replace the above players, but FFS, we have the cash - and of course our promising youngsters just waiting for a first-team chance.
You have overpriced Comedy Eboue by about £5.50 plus left out the bag of jerseys we'd have to add as a sweetener.

what fucks me off is villa let friedel go to the scum, thats his best days behind him anyway , and for £3.5 m replace him with a younger, better and experienced Shay Given. We let go off clichy and replace him with some random at charlton (good luck to him) and if Nasri goes wenger will explain Gervinho was his replacement   :banghead:

The thing Wenger doesn't understand is Fergie's 'Kids' were backed up by experienced pros like Bruce,Cantona,Gary Pallister who could stabalise the back and let the kids make their mistakes.

Wenger has a team with no metal or experience

So its Gervinho, Jenkinson, Miyachi and then "like a new signing" duo Vermaelen and Frimpong.

113 pages into the thread and I'm no closer to being convinced that the gormless joker 'managing' our club has changed his ways. He's back with his squad again in pre-season so the same gutless streak that sees him too scared of dismantling the squad by getting rid of his so called wonderboys like Vela and Fabianski, has come to the fore once more.

£10m for Jagielka - is the guy off his fucking head. On one hand he gets appalled by Barca's derisory offers for Cesc then he decides £10m for a guy in his peak years, of proven PL class and three months into a four year contract is a decent offer.

Has anyone told him it isn't 1998 anymore ?

I've tried to stay away from all this transfer bullshit rumour stuff as it has driven me insane over the past three seasons, but I know it is eating away at the club we all love.

Another season of listening to drivel and watching spineless capitulations under the GIC........we deserve better
The window is still open another month, so not sure how it's been slammed shut.
This gormless joker who is off his fucking head that manages Arsenal has done quite well in the years with Arsenal. I get frustration, but come on. Let's wait and see how the dust settles after the window really does close. You know, August 31, not July 22.
And what do we deserve exactly?

Just because he doesnt come out in the press and talk about every tom dick or harry we want to sign, and our transfer dealings are more than often kept under wraps until the very last minute, and there is still over a month to go that doesnt make Wenger a wanker.

If the press state that Wenger has offered for Jagielka and it has been turned down, people slag him off for a derisory bid, not praise him for the fact he is attempting to sign a center back. Do people really think that Jagielka is worth £20million?

How can Wenger complain about Barca when he makes derisory bids himself? I still think its a token bid for Jagielka so that in a month or so's time when the window is shut he can say see i tried. As i said he is a :awnker: Jagielka may not be worth the money but if we really want him pay the going rate you dont bid less than last year

The rumour on the Herd site is that Gazidis agreed a deal with Bolton for Cahill two months ago. Apparently the deal was struck in a face-to-face meeting at a hotel in Doncaster......Wenger has since decided that the offer is too high, and has walked away from the deal.

It is Wenger fucking everything up!

SACK THE PRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The protest against Villa should've been not just against the b****, but against Wenger as well, members of the BSM said themselves it wasn't about Wenger and one guy said it's fine that he never spends any money. They should have been on his back with that protest and all through the game, if these reports of him being pressured to spend are true, then it proves that the fool is responsible for everything that is wrong at the club.

We've been slowly dying the past four or five years, the life force of the club being sucked out, and this twat has to be held accountable so we can have a new fucking direction and get our ambition back
